Id say Arbys is pretty bad but their buffalo chicken sandwiches actually slap and their shakes are really good, too
they should drop the shitty roast beef sandwiches and just become a shake shop

Burger King no contest

I gotta say Subway. Terrible flavor and they put like one thin slice of meat with one slice of cheese and bulk it up with shredded lettuce and all the other cheap ingredients.

Arby's would win but I honestly like their Greek gyros. The only real Greek place shut down otherwise i'd never go there.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jack in the Box. Their burgers and fries leave a lot to be desired in my opinion, although the rest of the menu isn't too bad. I usually only go there when nothing else is open late at night.

I don't know if this is a local thing or what, but they got rid of croissants. Like, they still call them that, but rather than being actual croissants, they're now just buns with a spiral pattern <_<

Although their chili cheese curly fries are awesome :D

I'm honestly surprised by the lack of McDonalds.

Yes, I know stuff like Long John Silvers exists, but McDonalds, while delicious, has some seriously nauseating food. It's a bit of a paradox as taste wise, Mcy D's is actually pretty tasty. Super tasty fries. Very salty, great texture. Burgers taste pretty damn good while you're eating them. Breakfast...most of it is pretty solid. Good ice cream.

But afterwards...I feel like total dogshit. They must seriously put like drugs in their food as I crash harder on mcy d's food than anything I know.

Burger King absolutely tastes worse, but at least I don't go into a diabetic coma just eating their burger and fries like I do McDonalds.

That's because Mcdonalds and Subway are arguably the baseline for fast food. While they have some meals that can be awesome when prepared right, for the most part they are just a consistent force in the fast food industry. As long as the food is fresh, you know your getting a meal that is middle of the road for somewhat affordable prices no matter where you go.

Meanwhile, other places have highs that are higher than Mcds, but their lows also fall far far below Mcds. And I'm just nitpicking now, but what they serve isn't Ice Cream, hell even Dairy Queen doesn't market it as Ice Cream. It's more like a custard, hence why the soft serve looks the way it does. Different ratios of ingredients, which allows it to blend better. If you've ever wondered why a milkshake at a diner looks completely different than what you get a Mcds or Dairy Queen, now you know :)

This may be a bias, because I grew up 6 blocks from In-n-Out #3 in Pasadena, but the further you get from the "core" 5-7, the quality changes. Not necessarily worse, but different.

I went to the Sacramento, Inglewood and another one and it was vastly different. The burgers and sometimes fries were WAY overcooked.

At the Pasadena, Arcadia (#2 or #4) & Azusa (#5 or #6) In-n-Outs the burgers are cooked medium rare to medium. They're juicier and more flavorful. The Rialto In-n-Out does it that way too (don't know the #. There's probably well over 100 now - something Snyder, the founder never wanted but his granddaughter, the current owner apparently said "fuck it".)

The fact I know exactly where each of those In-N-Out locations are is scary.

I've always considered Burger King bottom of the barrel. Anything they do is done better by somewhere else. The chicken fries are good though.

The Whooper is great along with their onion rings

Bad Burger King tends to be worse than bad McDonald's. We had a pretty bad A&W too, but more reflective of the store itself than the chain.

For me it's Taco Bell. At least places like Burger King in my area the people there care about the food. Taco Bell in my area is the only one where it's not pleasant to go to and the food feels a bit stale IMO. May just be where I am.

I've only ever seen Roy Rodgers at turnpike rest stops. Only ever had a bacon cheeseburger from one, never bothered to try a roast beef sandwich to compare to Rax or Arby's. I remember it being alright, sufficient for road trip munchies at least.

i still get it once in awhile. just most of their stuff is better at mcdonalds or wendys. Bk fries suck and so do their nuggets and really all their chicken. chicken fries are ok but last couple times i got them they were way worse than i remember. their burgers are pretty decent if they aren't dried out. they're also probably the most expensive of the 3. it's them or wendys but wendys has the 4 for $4 and the biggie bag but they got rid of a lot of the options on them and seem like they're trying to get rid of them. plus they have the best spicy nuggets of the 3.

BK, Sonic, and KFC are all pretty bad. I used to enjoy KFC somewhat too but I their chicken became bland and their mashed potatoes are nasty and taste fake.

Interesting. We don't have many of those in L.A., but the few I know of are pretty expensive and... not half bad.

And for the record, KFC has been the same since they first showed up: southern comfort food. With Sanders, you know what you're getting.

kind of offtopic/ontopic, but my province is getting their first Five Guys next Spring/Summer. I hope it is as good as people say its supposed to be.
