People aren't going to magically become sane after 1/20 Agreed. Trump's the symptom, the Republican party and far right media are the disease. That being said, Trump's totally going to ride his cult following for all its worth and continue to foment anger and violence if left to his own devices. Which is why, not only for the sake of justice but also social unrest, the Biden admin would be fucking morons to not pursue criminal charges against Trump, thinking that would "heal the nation", when it really just means he can get away w/ anything and be emboldened to incite more violence. The country needs Trump dragged into a court room and finally having all his misdeeds made public, so it becomes harder to deny reality. Go after Trump and his cronies, but try and lay off his supporters and give them the chance to realize their mistake. You can't prove statements that depend solely on faith wrong. I got wrangled into a discussion at work where dude keeps using circular logic to try explaining how millions of votes were fraudulently changed by Hugo Chavez (who is dead) and how he knew about all this evidence that consisted solely of people saying it happened, he kept saying Trump had a new lawyer with evidence who would prove it and I'm just like "You're just doing an appeal to authority". He goes "what" and I explain it then he immediately makes an appeal to masses "It's not just her saying it a lot of people are saying it!" then I point out he is making an appeal to masses and he says "I don't understand how the liberal mind works" and goes on to tell me how the Clintons have murdered all kinds of people and props Trump up to be a super hero who won in a land slide winning almost every state in the country and the whole "How could you possibly think Biden won?" at some point in the discussion I point out how I don't believe any of what they claim will ever happen I specifically mention the time he pulled out his phone after it goes off and goes "Oh wow they just gave a major update that Pelosi will be arrested within 72 hours" after she ripped up Trumps state of the union speech which is just met with a "THEY ALL BELONG IN PRISON OR 6 FEET UNDER!"
