A great game, I loved the style and so much about it. It's dripping with Ace Attorney inspiration but has a unique vibe too. I was going along with the ending but there were just a few too many twists on top of twists and I'm not sure what I think of them all. Like the general thing worked but it's such a rapid fire series of twists and it doesn't even really go back to the 'bad guys' and they just kept cycling through the 10 years again and again! I didn't have time to even think if they all made sense or worked emotionally or whatever. I think I generally was ok with how it went? Maybe a bit too "happy endings for everyone", idk. I at least figured out the cat thing a while back, had no clue about Ray or Yomiel though. What a rollercoaster ride, whew. I need time to process it honestly. Great game! Also the casually thrown in fact that Sissel is an immortal ageless cat now just throws up all sorts of unpleasant implications. The Ray/Missile twist was indeed the biggest 'wtf' one, I do love how Missile grew from adorable hilarious sidekick to central vitally important plot character as the game progressed. Honestly don't get me wrong, I loved this game, it just took several left turns in its ending sequences that I got a bit of whiplash. I particularly liked Yomiel's face turn. I guess I just wanted more game in the end, it's sizable enough for what it is but knowing there's no sequel or anything sucks. And the game touched around the actual essence of death and ceasing to exist forever (which is pretty dark stuff!) so when Sissel just gets a handwaved 'will never die' moment it's real odd lol. But it's still a super bold ending (having the final narrative reveal conversation be between a dead cat and a time traveling dog spirit is... bonkers. In a good way) and I guess it is kind of refreshing for it to not have Sissel and/or Yomiel die to serve the story. I'm amazed I wasn't spoiled for this game at all, I know it's just a cult thing but it's so beloved, I'm glad I got to go in fresh.
