Can you give me full names of the Sky trilogy games? I have no idea what to even look for.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (sometimes called Trails in the Sky FC)
The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky SC ("second chapter" This is the direct sequel to the last game )
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd (I don't know why they decided to call it this. direct sequel to SC, kind of an "interquel" with the Crossbell games and Cold Steel))

Again, I don't know their exact Steam names because I played the first two on PSP/Vita.

Hajimari itself is structured more like Sky the 3rd though where you have the main narrative, but there's also a ton of side episodes that take place with various characters who aren't really in the main story (mostly tying up loose ends left from Crossbell and Cold Steel)

Also I thankfully didn't actually see anything, but I typed in "Hajimari gameplay" into YouTube just to see what it looked like, and one of the first results was "Character Identity REVEALED!"

So I guess Trails works on Danganronpa YouTube rules, lol.

I don't know if I really fit any of those that well, but Sky Neutral probably comes closest.

I'm mainly Crossbell Neutral but also with a hint of Crossbell Chaotic. Might be more strongly towards the latter except that I actually think Sky SC was the best game in the series.

He was fine in 3, not amazing but solid. Here he is basically non-existant.

Kurt is still better than Machias. At least he has a close connection with one of the main antagonists. He's a boring/serious dude but he's refreshingly non-toxic at least.

You wanna know who is non-existent in CSIV, tragically? Sara. I know she basically got her closure in CSIII but damn talk about not having anything to do.

Zin and Kurt at least have decent rivals. Gaius could come back around in future games with a more meaningful role now that he's a Dominion.

Kurt has a lot of issues honestly. Not really filling a niche in a huge cast is the biggest issue.
*minor minor spoilers*

He can't be the Way of the Sword character. Game has like 3+ of them playable.
Doesn't get to be the smart guy despite being the canonically smartest new class 7 member. Since Old Class 7 has at least 3 people smarter than him by book smarts and 2 more (1 from each era) that feel smarter than him even if they tested lower.
Doesn't get to be the dual wielder character because the game has like 5 of them.
There are plenty of other serious straight man type characters. Noteably Rean. Which having a straight man main character to play off the more comical characters means Kurt isn't needed at all when Rean is around.
The romance they teased with him and juna in early CS3 doesn't happen so there isn't even that to play off of.

Your left with him dealing with family traditions and the Vander Family in general. That's like everything he has. The other characters from prestigious families are also all more engaging than what he is dealing with.

Gameplay wise he isn't too bad. Very fast, above average stats all around, Fixed Water slots is a little annoying but fixed Wind is pretty good. His crafts are pretty solid (even if 95% of the time your going to be using Rain Slash and Twilight Blades.), his brave order is alright (it was super good in CS3 mid game.) Definitely doesn't stand out outside of his like near best in game availability. Shame his Link Bonuses are pretty much super pigeonholed into being evasion/counter attack based since he is a 1 range unit. I kinda wish he had Art Support or Anger even if it doesn't really fit his character. Would be better for his gameplay.

I pretty much only think of Kurt in gameplay terms nowadays, lol.

1 Act in and he's been doing great as a random status effect inflictor via Zephyr/Gloom.

Musse doesn't seem as busted as she was in III but I imagine that will change as the game progresses.

I pretty much made Kurt an evade tank (which is what the game wants you to do, I think).

His brave order is delay based in CSIV which means its broken just like all the other delay orders

It worked out after a few tries (winning wasn't the problem it was doing so with the AP bonus) , but I still can't get over how messed up that last fight in Act 1 was mechanically. Cold Steel has a LONG history of giving you the menu between fights in this kind of situation, but they just didn't this time, I guess...to keep the flow going? Just seems like a bad decision considering the progression of the split party prior, especially since the save it does give you is past the point of menu access.

I just skipped the AP bonus there. Doesn't really matter since there's way more than enough AP available for all bonuses.

I think that's what the game tries to push you towards with him, what with his starter MQ, but Fie and Sara are just so much better at that since they can counter at range. Heck, Sara has a craft to give herself Insight and Fie has a Brave Order for it (with party-wide halved delay on top of it) to make it easy out of the gate.

Kurt is probably the worst New Class VII member but that still puts him above like 80% of the Erebonia cast.

Yeah, but I like using New Class VII as much as I can. Plus, I'll boost Kurt up and then hit everything with his S-Craft right before he faints.

I have no intention to use anyone but the main 6 in my combat party other than sections where it's forced. Just how I role!

And I have definitely appreciated using Kurt's Kaioken in a pinch when a boss was about to get a huge health recovery due to turn order on multiple occasions.

Yea Fie pretty much is Kurt but instead of her Arcus being x2 Wind/x1 Water it's x2 Wind/x1 Time, she has longer attack range, is faster, is worse at artes, and is much squishier in all defensive stats. They even have the same link abilities.

I still use Kurt a lot honestly. BEHOLD THE VANDER STYLE makes me smile for some reason.
