What we got here was a recreation of chapters 1 and 2 with slight difference throughout and enormously different mystery endings, then we got a recreation of chapter 7 but as if it were a question arc chapter, which also veered heavily at the end.

This was very clearly all setup meant to greatly confuse existing fans of the series, and the next chapter is the Cat Deception chapter, which of course...has its own implication.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear - Did some things that were nice (focusing on cute little girls, being pleasant), but suffered from having a real boring MC. I've felt like isekais with female protagonists usually have more interesting MCs, but that definitely isn't the case here! She basically has no character motivation whatsoever.

Moriarty the Patriot - Really dug the first half. Cool plans to fight against an evil system, kinda felt like Code Geass or something in some ways, but with an adult protagonist. And then they introduced an incredibly boring version of Sherlock Holmes and made him the main character and the show sucked. Blech. I feel like various versions of Sherlock usually have comedic potential, but this guy wasn't funny at all, and they didn't do anything interesting with him.

I remember last year when there arguments about Kimetsu versus One Piece in sales numbers, where certain metrics had Kimetsu on top though it wasn't ACTUALLY, and the discourse was way more serious than was reasonable.

Now...like, I know it's because of the movie, but that's an extreme disparity in sales to argue with. I'm halfway expecting Kyoharu to come out and say that they're bigger than Jesus.

I dropped One Piece...feels like it's almost been 2 years now, not sure if that's right.

Just really really not liking Wano. Feels just like how I dropped it bac when Dressrosa was happening, which I also hated.

I feel like the Wano response has been much, much better than Dressrosa tough, so hopefully I can get myself to go back to it eventually.

Finished reading a great manga called Innocent about France's executioner during/before the French revolution. It's real great stuff and his sister is a fantastic character (she's also an executioner in this version).

I don't think Wano has been all that great either, but it is signifying the end of this drawn out super saga we've been in ever since the new world started.

I'm excited for post-wano one piece. Although I guess I am very curious to see how the finale of Wano is going to be handled too. Like, we might finally get real straw hat fights!

I've honestly not greatly enjoyed any One Piece post time skip. Something about every arc just feels empty. Don't know if I can put my finger on it.

I like Whole Cake (Big Cake?), but only really by comparison. Nothing in One Piece can ever match the stretch between Alabasta to Ennies Lobby (didn't love Thriller Bark either)

the problem with timeskip OP is that it started back up with the worst possible arc, Racist Island, which was hyped since the beginning of the manga to be this magical place but turned out to just be shitty flashbacks and weak villains that took like 5 years real life time to get through

Doflamingo arc sucked too because it turned out he's just Kaido's bitch and didn't amount to anything, at least Whole Cake Island was good with Luffy and Sanji developments

just let this sink in, Zoro hasn't had a fight in a decade, this hopefully changes with Wano

ive also enjoyed OP a lot less post-time skip, and i dropped the manga right around that Luffy prison stuff.
i still have faith in Oda to bring things back around for the endgame, but what i wouldnt give for a little more focus on the Straw Hats. The Sanji development is what made Whole Cake Island a little more special than the rest.
And Dressrosa is fantastic in retrospect, the Law and Doflamingo storyline was A1. Its only worthwhile in a marathon tho cuz Jeeeesus the pacing crawls.
