The misconception that you get more conservative as you get older comes from people assuming how younger generations will vote before they actually start voting in high numbers.

We assume millennials and zoomers are super left-wing because Democrats win so heavily with them, without realizing they have the lowest turnout rate of any age group. Most people don't start voting regularly until they are 45+.

So people who are politically active from a young age might be more left-wing, but it's wrong to assume their generation is.

Millennials hate everyone though. We hate zoomers, boomers, and other millennials. 10 years ago there were 500 post topics dedicated to what year constituted being a 90s kid. This is the player haters ball of generations.

The more wealth I've gathered, the older I've gotten (26 currently), the more experiences I have encountered, the more left I have become. I am definitely one of the left most people I know, second to only maybe one or two.

Well these are the same people who use 12-year old bully tactics like insults, shaming, namecalling, and also advocate and applaud violence. So it's not surprising to me that they haven't progressed in their ideology either.

conservatives are often just old school liberals whose values have remained consistent - lagging behind the evolution of society's values

though i can understand people becoming more fiscally conservative as they get older, and they experience the tax and regulatory burden for what it is

Opposite for me, I used to have an extremely conservative POV when I was younger (and only because I was raised in a heavy Southern Baptist enviroment) and became more Liberal as I got older (because I actually opened up my horizon and talked to people of different backgrounds, etc.).
