ANTIFA = 90.2%
QAnon = 9.8%

For those who want to know who Darlene McDonald is, she's a Leftist Democrat, Biden Supporter... who obviously tried to set up this poll to slam the "alt-right" conspiracy theorist QAnon. Hoping her base would point the fingers away from ANTIFA, by exposing the threat that was probably never there in the first place... the problem is, everyone is agreeing that ANTIFA is the bigger problem over QAnon.

However, when the results started to show, she now flips the script, saying the "skewed results" of her own poll proves that that QAnon threat is real....

The problem with Qanon is that most people don't even know what the fuck it is. While the media has occasionally tried to hype it up, it's not something that's going to register with most people even though there have a few high-profile incidents. Personally, beyond a barebones description I heard on NPR, even I'm not entirely sure what Qanon is about (my understanding is that it claims there's some international pedophile ring among political and social elites (which, considering everything around Epstein, might not be a completely unwarranted suspicion) as well as a deep state preserving that status quo, but -- given that I mostly know about it from stuff like NPR -- it's probably an inaccurate picture)

By contrast, Antifa is a visible, large-scale movement responsible for injures, property destruction, etc. It's not just something you'd find online

As for Twitter polls, I'm not entirely sure that they're a reliable representation of how Twitter feels, although people on Twitter are more likely to know what Qanon is than the general public. (And I guess Qanon isn't necessarily a political movement?)

I'd argue that Twitter itself is probably the biggest threat to American democracy. Because it tends to give everyone the sense of entitlement and belief that their personal views should be heard and the arrogance to assume they're universally important, without the "informed and educated" part that is actually supposed to go hand in hand with the idea of democracy.

Or to put it another way, it tends to encourage the selfish desire for all of the benefits of democracy without any of the responsibilities of democracy.

All I've gathered is that QAnon is a small fraction of conservative white-trash, trailer-park, online mouth-breathing nobodies pushing "pizzagate" theories, but never physically actively protesting or doing anything about it, aside from waving painted signs with a big "Q" around during campaign rallies.

And really, what is their message? "Pedophiles" corrupting the government?....last I checked pedophiles are bad people....even if their claims are unfounded (yet plausible), why would anyone be against the notion if they could prove it to be true.

...but as was said, they aren't the ones burning down cities....

The result of this poll isn't because people don't know what Qanon is, the result of the poll is because 4chan does this to online polls.

...don't know why I'm responding to this, but off the top of my head the list would be...
1) Selfishness. Traditional American "individualism" has become pure selfishness in the absence of any immediate major outside threats (climate change isn't the right kind of threat to pull people together: it's too large/decentralized)
2) Social media and the internet. There used to be a relatively common understanding of the world we could share from decently independent journalists. There were issues with that, but it was still a million times better than the "believe whatever the hell you want" we have now. I don't want Chinese style censorship, do I? No...but damn, they're going to crush us in the next century if they don't implode (which is possible).
3) No knowledge of history. Does anyone remember WWI? Heck, WWII? War is horrible, and there are huge consequences associated with selfish, xenophobic, and tribalistic actions. Get along, people.
4) Moral decay. Exactly what do we value, anyways? Christian values are on the outs. They're being replaced with...I'm not sure. Entertainment? Whatever is entertaining is good? Decadence would be the word. We like laughing about politics on late night shows and mocking opponents. Real debate over methods to achieve common goals is a million miles away. It sounds 'pie in the sky', but if there aren't values or threats holding us together drifting apart is inevitable. Reference: late Roman empire.

Qanon and Antifa are symptoms of the above, not the problems. Antifa is the most stupidly self-destructive group I can think of: all they do is provide their far right enemies a reason to believe their paranoia and distrust is justified. Qanon is just flat stupid, and it's shameful that leaders would embrace it.

I also live in a deep red state and it's crazy just how many people believe QAnon, conspiracy theories, and any disinformation posted online.
