zebatov 09/15/20 8:51:30 PM #1:	I had my Switch in a fabric carrying case for a long time. Took it out recently to play some games and it wont charge at all. Is this a common issue? I turned a DS on the other day that was found in a box from sometime in 2012 (unsure how much older the DS is) and it fired right up. Monopoman 09/15/20 9:30:23 PM #10:	The only way this sounds like it could actually damage the switch is if it got water damage while in the case which is unlikely. The other possibility is excessive heat which could damage it even if it was turned off. Excessive dust could be another factor but again unless the case was dusty as heck this sounds very tough. The only way to know for sure is contact Nintendo and send it in for repairs or something like that. Same thing can happen to cords that charge it they can get frayed or damaged with use depending. I do try to pick all that grime from whatever slot I can find in my controllers once every few months. I use toothpicks over pins to avoid scratching. It did turn back on finally, but its been on and off the charger for lengthy periods over the last couple days. You can charge a Switch either like a normal thing like a modern phone or with the stand, both of them work. If it only charged with the stand that would be a real pain in the ass to bring with you in case you need to charge it.
