Rules: 1._Vote for your favorite rivalry(ies). Bracket: https://challonge.com/es/e0cpkkjf Discussion Topic: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/78857778 Today's contestants: MATCH 1: Mario vs. Crono (GameFAQs Contests Rivalry) Widely regarded as the greatest match in GameFAQs contests history, Mario vs. Crono occurred when GameFAQs was at its peak, back in 2003. The match was not only highly hyped and anticipated, but it also delivered a very close match that was supposed to last for 24 hours Except it didnt. The site exploded in confusion, desperation, excitement, and laughter, all at the same time, upon contemplating the absence of former GameFAQs administrator, CJayC, who had to close the poll by the 24-hour mark. By the time the 24 hours were completed, Crono wouldve had assured his victory But the extension of the time-frame (was it 2 hours?) granted Mario the win. Since then, Mario has become a villain regarding Character Battles, especially on the rematches he had against Crono, but this controversial match is sure to be one to always remember. -Advokaiser Rocky Balboa vs. Apollo Creed (Rocky) Apollo Creed was the former Heavyweight Champion, who was introduced as an main antagonist in Rocky and Rocky II, the deuteragonist in Rocky III, the supporting character in Rocky IV and picture character in Creed and Creed II. Creed is presented as the undisputed heavyweight world champion in Rocky, he was undefeated and had cleared out his division of challengers prior to his fight with Rocky Balboa, following his split-decision victory over Rocky, Creed challenges Rocky to a rematch in Rocky II, which he loses, losing his world championship and suffering his first career loss. Creed retires after this fight, but he returns to train his former foe, Balboa, in Rocky III following Rocky's loss to Clubber Lang. Creed and Balboa bond over this time, becoming close friends. In Rocky IV, Creed decides to make a one-off return to the ring to fight a Soviet Union boxer by the name of Ivan Drago. The fight is billed as an exhibition, but unfortunately, Creed is knocked unconscious in the second round, resulting in his death. -Rocky Wiki MATCH 2: Master Splinter vs. The Shredder (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Splinter, often referred to as Master Splinter by his students, is a fictional character from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and all related media. A mutant rat, he is the martial arts and ninjutsu instructor of the Turtles, as well as their adoptive father. In most incarnations, Splinter is a mutated or reincarnated martial artist Hamato Yoshi; in others, he was Yoshi's pet rat. The Shredder is a fictional supervillain who appears in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and all of its related media.[1] In every incarnation of the TMNT franchise, he is depicted as the leader of the criminal organization known as the Foot Clan, and serves as the main antagonist and archenemy of the Turtles and Splinter. In 2009, The Shredder was ranked as IGN's 39th-greatest comic book villain of all time. Wikipedia Lilly Satou vs. Shizune Hakamichi (Katawa Shoujo) Lilly and Shizune are two of the five main female characters of Katawa Shoujo. Even though Lilly is not one to bear any ill thoughts to others, it is occasionally shown that she and Shizune do not get along well at all, despite the fact that they are cousins. Lilly has great compassion for all other students except Shizune. There seems to be a certain level of rivalry between them, despite the fact that they were close a matter of a few years ago. Shizune is not very fond of Lilly, often arguing with her whenever they meet. Lilly describes Shizune as pushy, rude, and scary while Shizune thinks Lilly is selfish and lazy. In the past, both were once in Student Council before Shizune "scared off" the rest of the members, leaving just herself and Misha.
