Just finished season 1. Its not bad. Its got nostalgia, interesting characters, and a bit of commentary on contemporary society. It attempts to frame conflict in a way that lets u see all sides. It doesn't have good or bad guys, but allows the characters to display aspects of both virtue and vice. You want to like and hate jonny all at the same time.

Just finished watching both seasons, I did like it. Season two is good but, well, it's an annoying cliffhanger to have to wait so long for season 3. The virus of course postponned everything as did shifting it to netflix, but it's horrid timing.

Good over all though.

Oh wow, that was the one thing making me interested in getting YT Red, but I guess not anymore.

I wonder why YT decided to release their biggest show on their competition.

Just finished season 2. A good season though it lacked a lot of the nuance that made the 1st season stand out. Characters begin to act outside of that moral gray area/ two sides to every story paradigm, allowing one to definativley say there is a bad guy.

I mean.....yeah, there is ONE bad guy, and it's obvious by the end of season 2 who that is, but the chars from season 1 are all pretty ambiguous still lol. Everyone making good and bad choices as they go along.

The golden child so far, the.....disciple of danial son....basically....actually ended up doing the worst thing so far, even if he didn't actually mean to do it. The.....semi-villian son....ended up trying to make peace and paying for it. Both of the old guys/dads kinda almost made up and were friends for a second there lol. I hate how they left it though especially since we have to wait so long for a conclusion.

I've watched a lot of it via YT clips back when it was a YT Red exclusive, but I'm not going to watch the full seasons until right before season 3 drops. I already know the cliffhanger, though.

In general, it seems incredible.

Because they cancelled the series and NF picked it up for season 3, buying the earlier seasons in the process. And yes, it was literally the only good thing YT Red had going for it and supposedly YT Red is moving away from professional productions. YT Red isn't really a thing either, they kinda redid the whole thing.

Dude this is literally what I told my friend to do today lol. I actually told him to watch Season 1 now if he wants since it doesn't end on a big cliffhanger, but wait till season 3 drops before watching season 2 for sure (I wish I had).

I hate freaking waiting years to get resolution.

Netflix also cancels alot of stuff without ever dealing with cliffhangers which is very annoying. They did that with 2 shows recently in fact that I was waiting for season 2. Least we know they won't cancel season 3 of CK cause it's already filmed, they are just not releasing it yet.

They also pick up stuff that was canceled and continue it, like was the case with both Longmire (which ended its tv run on an epic cliffhanger where we weren't sure if a major character was shot) and, I might add, Cobra Kai which YTR wasn't picking up for another season. (And, technically speaking, some of the shit that gets canceled on NF isn't NF's fault -- for instance, Disney brought an end to the MCU series.)

In general, when it comes to cancellations, when a show knows it's ending can make all the difference since we sometimes get endings instead of cliffhangers as a result.

Yeah, I'm not taking a dump on netflix, they are in general the best streaming service (have the most awesome shows). They just canceled I am not ok with this, which I liked, so I'm still upset about it, but over all they have saved way more shows then they just suddenly canceled (including CK as you mentioned).

So yeah netflix over all, but BOOO netflix for canceling some of them with major cliffhangers.

Now if only Netflix can somehow get Firefly back up and running. Minus a couple major characters for reasons brought about by Serenity (or RL, RIP Book)

I mean Nathan is pretty big now, but I bet he would be down for it, he loved that role lol.

But yeah, I don't know if they could really pull it off between Serenity and real life death, maybe a spin off where the characters that are still alive make cameo's or something, but the main show would be hard to get going again.

Would rock if they did it (or they did an anime version even).

Man, I just started watching and had to stop at episode 9 because of a prior engagement. The show is pretty bad ass, I'm really glad NF got the show.

Yeah my wife and I just started watching this last week and we're about halfway through season 2. It's friggin' awesome! I can't believe how good a character Johnny is, but literally everyone is good. I also can't believe how much respect they have for the source material.

Man, I just finished season 2, and it got kind of stupid towards the end.

Sam became such a Mary Sue character in season 2, Hawk getting his ass kicked by that nerdyass dude, Miyagido constantly outdoing Cobra Kai even though Cobra Kai has way more combat experience, etc... the cliffhanger was awesome, but everything leading up to it was kind of disappointing.

Some of it is explainable at least in the Karate Kid universe.

Miyagi's training allowed Daniel son to beat the kobra kai fighters that had been in way more competitionst hen him, were previous champions etc, in his first competition. In this case the two sides were FAR closer in actual experience (it was both of their first times competing, both had started training fairly recently etc).

Hawk was a nerd lol, and he just learned karate recently, also he wasn't expecting his also nerd friend to fight back at all, so that kinda explains it.

Robby though they set up as kinda a "good guy" type, that was Daniels disciple, but then ended with a twist, actually I thought they did a really good job of making the "good guy" and "Bad guy" roles kinda switch back and forth throughout the two seasons, one of the things I really like about it.

Sam's whole arc in season 2 was meh but they basically wanted a chick on chick setup and a more solid "bad girl" I guess. It wasn't horrible, but it was kinda stupid lol. It basically led to Rob's downfall, while Migell ended up following miyagi's teachings more even though he didn't have Daniel as his teacher.

Great shot though, can't wait for season 3, just wish it wasn't so long away.

That works when Miyagi was giving him 1 on 1 lessons and focusing on him completely, also the movie worked because he was completely the good guy while the Cobra Kais were the bad guys.

Hawk might've been a nerd, but he was good enough to get to the semi finals of the tournament. After all that, all he does is constant job, which was pretty stupid too, but getting his ass kicked by the super duper needs guy that can hardly throw a punch was just completely ridiculous. Both my gf and I knew it was coming right when we saw him go to Miyagido, but doesn't make it any less stupid

I wish it was Sam's character in the hospital bed, that's how much I hated her character.

Yeah hawk was a total jobber. I don't like how they made his character a bad guy, though I guess it makes sense given the direction of cobra kai under the influence of kreese.
