That photo from California over the weekend where the police had their backs to the White nationalist group. And there were photos of one guy in the crowd pulling out a pistol and starting to aim it at the opposing crowd. No police officers saw him, of course.

It is a basic equation, people that are not responsible got too many guns.

Adding more guns wont solve the problem.
That said, removing the ones that already exist is also impossible.
So the only option left is to make sure that the gun owners are responsible enough to own a gun, but that would cost too much and is somehow against the constitution.

Well, to be fair the 1911 is technically an automatic. It's still one of those things that slightly trips me up even knowing the why.
Self loading action with rim for extractor unlike the .45 "revolver" cartridge. Even still see semi-auto hunting rifles considered to this day called and classed as automatic which probably confuses the hell outta people out of the loop.

Not full auto fire mind you, but then again the SKS can become a brief machine gun when damaged/malfunctioning internally so there's that.

Edit: Not sure if it was mentioned in all the chaos, but they said they've released that 2 of them died.

I am pretty sure that many LGBT persons that got killed carried guns, and many of the killers were classified as good guys before they did it.

If these were isolated incidents and everyday conflicts, sure, maybe, but it is literal militias vs citizens. It is such a clear divide. Its not a bunch of guys have a disagreement, its one side going out solely to inflict violence and doing so proudly and openly.

If his goal was to shoot at people why did he only do it as a last resort in self defense in the captured videos? He had plenty of opportunities all night long to go on a killing spree if that was his true intent.

He didn't want to go on an outright killing spree, he went there looking to instigate, shoot people, and then claim self defense. Look at his fucking rubber gloves, ffs. He just didn't think he'd get surrounded and attacked after he started shooting.

It's not some extreme one end or the other scenario, the thought behind it only came up after years of police showing that they support these militia groups. There's footage of them thanking a group he was with for being out there. He was emboldened knowing he would get away with it.

So from what I'm seeing, the first guy got shot because he was running at the guy with the rifle and throwing a molotov or something at him. Then the rifle guy ran away, some other people ran after him and tried to tackle him, and (I think) two more people got shot.

Proof of this? Kyle Rittenhouse is from a town about 10 miles from Kenosha btw

Everyone talks about how scary these militia types are but theres been no lethal force from them all summer until now while 35 people themselves have died due to the riots.

One, there's not been any towns burnt to the ground, don't act like a police precinct and a Wendy's are a whole town.

Two, if you're going with that argument then there's endless evidence that police intentionally escalated things that has led to most of those "riots". I say it in quotes because most nights in Portland that have been declared riots, it was over something like a water bottle.

I can at least understand taking the side of the rioters or of the militia. I can't for the life of me process the idea that people shouldn't be arming themselves when this is happening more and more throughout the year. Unless you have thoughts of self harm or a more general mental instability, you should be taking one of the easiest and most basic steps to protect yourself and your family. Hell, even if you're suicidal, you can disassemble your gun and entrust the necessary parts to a close friend.
