I'm not the least bit surprised and knew this would eventually happen. I watched the previous violence and one of the things I noticed was how it was mostly in places without a lot of access to firearms compared to rural areas. Also helped it was pretty abrupt and overwhelming. Start taking away the police/barrier and instill paranoia/fear on both side. I knew it'd only be a matter of time for places with these people or just armed scared people in general would start to retaliate.

I don't condone either side, as wanton destruction to random targets doesn't exactly 'help' and turning crowds into target practice doesn't either. I have a feeling it's only going to escalate, because there has to be a victor regardless of cost based on past smaller scales.

Dude walking down the street shooting people. The police didnt even do anything to the dude holdin the gun during the moment but drive past him.

Our great, and beautiful nation. Will the Queen, Melania save all of us from this turmoil?

Also, it looks like the shooter was running towards the cop cars to get away, which would explain why he casually walked away towards them after tripping and shooting the people chasing him with guns and weapons. Maybe he really did call 911 after he shot that guy in the head.

Nah, Im not saying that at all. Im saying it seems like an inevitable result of our collective inaction.

Said inevitable result being when the angry and desperate start raging against the machine this nation is gonna be the battleground. The Govt is gonna protect its own shit so the battleground is obviously gonna be our own streets. Again, an inevitable result of us allowing the govt to prioritize itself over its citizenry.

If you consider that to be a statement of us deserving it I guess thats fair, but like whats the alternative, to pretend nothing could have been done to avoid this?

I don't think "you made me burn down your store" is going to hold much water. Acting as though businesses getting burned down is simply a forgone conclusion doesn't add up either. Yes, the shit should have been addressed a long time ago, but targeting citizens, who also get shit on by police, sure as fuck isn't the answer.

And then when the people fight back, they're labeled villains, when the same "what did you think would happen" logic is applicable.

And it doesn't really strengthen your position to point out that they're going after targets that won't fight back.

Somehow the actions of the rioters are the fault of the owners of businesses they're destroying, and the rioters simply have no other choice.

No its not. But it opened up a shit ton of opportunity for other disgruntled groups to do their own shit. All of which is because we have a ton of fucked up systems, which we cant fix for a multitude of reasons I shouldnt have to go into, I assume you know what Im talking about, but can go deeper if I really have to.

I dont know what youre point is here, I dont know enough to make a decision. If this dude was really standing in front of a home or business and people started going after that home or business hes a hero. If he saw someone elses business he knows getting lit on fire and confronted those people to stop them and then got attacked, hes a hero.

Its not clear who died yet. 1 person died and 3 were injured.

We know he was there to protect local businesses and BLM protestors. Rioters were destroying cars at a car hop and for whatever reason he ended up shooting one in the face. He immediately called 911, said he just killed somebody, then ran off. Later he is running towards the police while being chased by people with guns and weapons. He trips, shoots the people attacking him, gets up and walks towards the police with his hands up. This is all on video.

We don't know why he shot the first guy in the face, only that the victim was destroying property, inciting violence and pushing other people around daring them to shoot him earlier that night. Obviously none of that is justification for being shot in the face. I doubt he will face charges for shooting the other two people who were attacking him and possibly trying to kill him while he was in the middle of surrendering himself to the cops. It's more likely they will be charged in that specific incident than him.

It is a basic equation, people that are not responsible got too many guns.

Adding more guns wont solve the problem.
That said, removing the ones that already exist is also impossible.
So the only option left is to make sure that the gun owners are responsible enough to own a gun, but that would cost too much and is somehow against the constitution.

...I guess we could solve it by removing the humans, which seems to be the solution USA have taken.
