There seems to be two types of people right now. Those that believe everything is fine and those that believe things will get better. How about we stop with the BS and just admit that these are lies we tell ourselves. Things aren't getting better and they never will not in a year, not in a decade, not in our life times. It's all downhill from here buckos and it's time we accept that.

This is the nicest looking post apocalypse I've seen then.

Things almost certainly will get better in regards to covid, just hard to know how long it'll take and how bad it'll get before then.

Climate change will almost certainly eventually get better but it's pretty hard to say if we will find a way in the next 50 or so years or if it'll be several thousand.

I know it's easier to have no hope than a really slim hope but reality almost never has absolutes.

I was just talking with a friend about the future potential of both building down (underground living) and building under the ocean. Both will be quite possible in a post climate change world without majorly changing our way of life.

Technology will continue to improve as well, and that includes medical tech, even in the near future we will see massive progress in the fight against virus attacks etc (as a race we have been massively motivated at this point).

Things have pretty much constantly gotten better forever at this point and even if we did have a massive apocalypse the human race would survive and things would continue to get better for those survivors, it just means maybe a ton of people will have their lives cut short first.

But yeah, things will get better, I just don't know if we will have all you can eat crab buffets for awile, and that makes me sad.

I'm of the mindset things only get better if enough people move to make things better. We've spent too many years with some people thinking "great" is "perfection," some people thinking heroes would come along and do good for them so they don't have to, and lots of various kinds of mistakes besides. Can things get better from here? The only way would be to actually fucking try.

Belief that everything isn't completely fucked is key to actually pushing through hardship.

If people think they're screwed, they tend to give up. What you're proposing is the very antithesis of what we need right now.

There's a difference between acknowledging things are bad now and spiraling into hopelessness. Things will eventually get better, and if people don't give up that will be sooner rather than later.

You might as well be telling people not to bother, because if people don't think things will get better sooner than you propose that's exactly what's going to happen.

And who really cares, what does it really matter, of people are having false hope? As long as people are doing what they can to stop the spread of the disease, sometimes that's just how it is. Sometimes people just have to believe in something.

I've spent most of my life feeling like you're saying people should basically, and it's miserable and no way to live. Feels like dying inside every day. It takes all the point, all the meaning, out of trying or giving a damn.

I spy, with my tired eye, a far, alt-right talking point complete with a missed punctuation and homophone; the latter being really minor things on their own. This talking point comes, also, with an assumption that such a thing will last three months.

I could argue on that point, and how enough people inoculating against something that cannot survive most surfaces for two to three weeks would be plentiful in a society where everyone did their part against a legitimate threat, but I find it difficult to take tc seriously with such usage of talking points that minimal logic or research could debunk. Furthermore, I choose to go to bed where I may find more intellectual stimulation from my pillows. So I bid you all good night.

I'm fairly unique myself, highly doubt there are many people like me, and I have met many other unique people as well, there are MANY types of people out there, good, bad, happy, sad, silly, crazy, sober, selfish, stubborn, laid back, pessimistic, problematic, sincere, excitable, sarcastic, random and many many other traits.

There is a semi-norm (which I'm nowhere near), but there are so many people outside of that norm, and so many ways people can differ from one another, that you can meet thousands and thousands of people in your life, and still not meet someone even close to like quite a few of them.

I've heard of companion pillows or something like that, which can stimulate you in other ways, but I have never heard of intellectually stimulating pillows, that sounds both really awesome, and quite annoying if i'm trying to go to sleep. I've had friends (back in my 20's) who wouldn't shut up all night and I couldn't get to sleep (until I wanted to KILL THEM). I imagine an intellectually stimulating pillow would get thrown out pretty fast.

Talk about taking a simple thing either too literally or toward a creative extreme. I mean, I suppose dreams could be considered the latter at some moments, however the point is more about the absence of stimulation being more stimulating.
