Discussion Topic: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/78857778 Bracket: https://challonge.com/es/e0cpkkjf Today's contestants: MATCH 1: Subtitles vs. Dubbings (Language Preference) When it comes to anime, foreign movies, or any sort of media thats not on our main language, we can categorize people into two groups: the ones who like to watch and listen to them in their own language, and the ones who prefer the original source best. From a personal perspective, even though there are excellent and iconic dubbing moments out there, those of us who prefer the original languages best can agree that dubbings often lose the charm of the original sources expressions and mannerisms. Either way, anyone of us can enjoy a good piece of media the way we want, and in the end, thats all that matters. -Advokaiser Brand New vs. Taking Back Sunday (Music Bands) In the early 2000s, every emo kid was either Team Brand New or Team Taking Back Sunday. The Long Island-based bands had been in a long-standing, well-publicized feud after the girlfriend of Brand New's lead singer Jesse Lacey reportedly cheated on him with TBS's John Nolan. Though the singers had once been childhood friends, with Lacey even being an original member of TBS, the two began lobbing insults at each other the best way they knew how: through emo lyrics. -Buzzfeed.com Taylor Swift vs. Katy Perry (Pop Singers) In the world of pop music (and mainstream music in general), both of these artists have gathered several fans throughout the years, as well as having many instant hits and earning multiple music awards in the last decade-and-a-half. These two girls are also possessors of the eye-candy power, with both of them having striking beauty in their own personal way. I gotta say, Im personally not a fan of these girls, but man, Hot N Cold is such an incredibly big guilty pleasure of mine, and Shake It Off has acquired such a mainstream status that you can pretty much consider it a modern classic, for whatever its worth. The debate regarding which of these girls is the most popular probably comes down to the nearest High School you have at your disposal. -Advokaiser Marty McFly vs. Biff Tannen (Back To The Future) Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is a shy, yet offbeat high-school student that, with the help of the eccentric scientist Emmett Doc Brown, travels back in time from 1985 to 1955 after Docs studies are discovered and tracked down by a group of Libyan terrorists. Having the purpose of saving Doc from future death, Marty inevitably stumbles upon his family in 1955 and her mother falls for Marty, which has serious repercussions for the future of his existence. He also meets Biff Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson), who happens to have a crush for Lorraine Baines, Martys mother. Biff is a brute bully that hands out with a band of misfits, complicating Martys time-travel journeys to fix the present all over the trilogy of films; however, Martys lack of physical strength was compensated with his ingenuity to teach Biff a lesson every time.
