Make no mistake, I'm going out and voting Trump out of office.

However, I do not blame anyone for sitting this election out. The Democratic Party has repeatedly proved themselves to be completely tone deaf, and at the end of the day, it's their job to convince people that they'll do a good job in office.

A Trump re-election shows that they've failed to do that. That is not the failure of the American people. The system is suppose to work for us, not the other way around and at some point, we have to stop this toxic cycle of things being "expected" of the American people without anything being given back in return.

What kills me is that even if you vote for biden, unless you become a partisan hack and give your soul to the party, you're still not pure enough and are basically a piece of shit.

EDIT: I'm also seeing the same hubris from the left that was there in the 2016 election starting to creep back in.

What bothers me is the complete faith people have in a system that's already been proven to be broken, if Trump wins people will act like he won legitimately and it's just sour grapes from the Dems, if Dems lose they'll blame the progressives, the youth, the Bernie bros, ect and of course there's also the people who think by "Teaching dems a lesson" dems will start respecting their ideals more, if anything if Dems lose again they're gonna start moving center right

If you can look at 160k+ dead from how poorly Covid has been handled and still not vote for Biden because he "isn't progressive enough for you" then you are selfish beyond saving.

You want to fight for more progressive views because that's what you believe in? Good. That's the American way. But there is a time and a place for that. It's not when The alternative is 1000 Americans dying on a daily basis. Biden may not have been the candidate you wanted, but to risk American lives because of an inability to compromise is inexcusable.

Shitty as they may be, if you don't vote then you are responsible (if perhaps not as much) as those voting for Trump.

You are either a shitty person enabling him and his abhorrent actions, or you're voting against him. Democrats are far, far, far, far from perfect but they are infinitely better than the Republican party and Trump at this point.

Every vote counts, this time more than ever with his open efforts to suppress voting. He's openly trying to stop people voting against him so anyone who can needs to, to ensure that he can't force himself into an unwanted position.

The popular vote doesn't matter, current voting rules make elections a "game". The repubs outplayed us last time because they were more willing to use scumbag tactics to bend the results in their favor.

I'm all for getting rid of the EC, but until that happens, the popular vote is worth less than the time it takes to type out the letters.

I mean it's not like what he said was meant to be super thought-provoking and deep, but he's right, at least when it comes to post-Trump America.

90% of the people you ask why they're voting for Biden, it's because they want Trump out of office. Nothing about his policies. And another 5% of people think Biden will be a return to the Obama years just because he was his VP.

I mean, it's impossible to deny that the center focus of discussion about Biden has more to do with getting Trump out than legitimate support for Biden. Even the people in this topic arguing against me aren't enthusiastic about Biden. So what does that tell you?
