Ok, it's a good dragon quest - it's a good RPG

But you have no impetus as a hero to do anything other than globetrot to victory.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, since the STORY is actually pretty decent with lots of detail... and it's a rare situation where the story and plot can be considered separate qualities.

...But, I mean, if you want some RPGs that give the hero and the player the same impetus... Dragon Quest 4 as well as Lufia 2 do it the best.

Anyways...
It's still a good game, it's that for a 40 hour first clear it didn't seem like I actually DID much...

If you're only 40 hours in you didn't finish the game btw.
You should have listened to what the game told you to do at the end of the credits.

That being said I made it to the real final dungeon and quit because I got bored.

Do those games all have their own story like Final Fantasy? I think the latest one is on gamepass so Ive been thinking I might give it a try

I mean because the game has like 2 or 3 false endings

DQ11 has a lot of DQ8's charm, but truth be told, the game is just too damned long for what it is. There's not a lot of variety to the mobs, the battles, or the same dozen areas you have to backtrack to way too many times. I too got bored with it about halfway thru the true third act. It's not a bad game, it just gets really stale towards the end.
