Stuff:
- Ratings 1-10, no decimals. If you include a decimal, I will round down.
- We will do two ratings for each character character (CH) & unit (UN). They will be separate lists and you do not have to rate for both lists. Character rating is for design, personality, aesthetics, story, etc. and unit rating for everything gameplay related. If you only submit one rating and dont specify which, it will default to the character rating.
- You are free to rate any characters from past days or change your rating.
- Nominations for future characters are accepted. This does not guarantee your noms will be up for rating the next day but they will be moved up the queue for sooner rather than later.
- You obviously do not have to rate everything, just the ones you want.
- No regular schedule (e.g. Day 2 will not necessarily come ~24 hours after Day 1)

SD Lena is your original warpskipper and thus a god, eventual Hammerne is also great (why does this fucking thing have 12 uses in this game?!). Then you get her for one turn in the next game, but there's some fun gimmicks with Aum she can pull off. Colm is a typical mediocre thief in a game where you can buy chest keys and there's only really one big ticket thing to steal. PoR Lethe is great for a while due to her crazy bases, but falls off quickly as her stats stop being godmode and her lack of forges and 1-2 range ruin her combat. RD Lethe is strong at first but even then is held back by being a cat, and it only gets worse from there. Tharja is another generic Awakening unit that doesn't do anything but can be used if you care, honestly the majority of this games cast is boring beyond belief in unit discussion terms. Ryoma has late availability and his durability can be a bit of an issue at times, but is otherwise a monster.

Lena's not the most interesting character, but she's one of the better generic healer girls. That's faint praise but like her personality in her introductory chapter a lot, she just suffers from not having much after that and being downright nonexistent in FE12. Colm is uhhh a thief. He's a got a relationship with Neimi that's also not very interesting? I dunno, I'm not a fan of the guy but he isn't terrible. Lethe is great, at least in FE9 where she gets more development. She's still good in FE10, just has less spotlight. Tharja sucks. Ryoma's okay; he suffers from Fates' bad writing like everyone. He gets a lot of screentime and therefore more development than most.

As units I agree with everything Panthera said and therefore have nothing to contribute!

Lena has access to infinite range warp from the moment she joins, so that's just busted. She's is indeed also your only character who can use Hammerne, which is mainly used to spam warp even more. Her stats aren't actually good at all, but that's basically irrelevant given what her role is. She would be fine in FE12 if she had more than one turn of availability. There's not much to her character but what is there is alright.

Yeah, Colm pretty much just steals an energy ring. There isn't much point to training him for a promotion. He will always be sword-locked with low strength.

Lethe is really good in PoR. She transforms on turn 1 and then runs around the map with very high mov killing everything. She does fall off later on, but her stats when she joins are way ahead of most other units and will keep her going for a while. Cats transform back really fast in RD, her period of strength is much shorter, basically one or two maps, and she no longer transforms on turn 1 which means some faster maps can end while she's still getting ready. Her personality is kind of annoying at times but at least has an arc and connects to the themes of PoR. She's kind of like a less well-developed version of Jill in that game.

Tharja is a little better than Henry due to high speed and an earlier recruitment. Dark Mage is a good starting class in Awakening and lets her exploit Nosferatu straight away. I don't completely despise her character but it's definitely kind of lame.

Ryoma probably has the most impressive combat performance in fates. He's extremely deadly between high str/spd and a great personal weapon, swordmaster skills are really useful, and he has lots of methods of avoiding damage including high evade, frequent dual guards do to always countering twice and sometimes activating Astra, which builds up the gauge all the way, which compensates for his less impressive durability. I'm pretty indifferent towards his character though.

Lena is the first unit you get who can use the most overpowered warp staff in the series. Plus she has exclusive use over Hammerne. Either her or Safy is the best earlygame healer, but does it really matter which is better when they''re basically the same unit?

Colm gets you an energy ring, and a speedwings in Ephraim's route. That's about it for stealables that are actually worth it in FE8. Still, those two items are enough to give him a 5/10.

Lethe is great in FE9 because of her great stats and early join time, plus she has a good transformation bar. Unfortunately, they nerfed her pretty hard in FE10, with cats having the worst transformation bar, and her stats not being as great. Yeah, there's olivi grass, but you're better off using that on the hawks, or even Ranulf.

Tharja has the benefit of being a dark mage and having easy access to dark mage abilities and nosferatu. Gave her a higher score than Henry because she joins earlier.

Ryoma has 1-2 range and the ability to double, which is rare outside of mages and ninjas in Fates. Unlike Xander, he actually has a speed stat that can take advantage of that. His durability is a little suspect, but he's still great overall.

Lena comes as a damsel that gets Julian and Navarre to join your team. It's not that great, but that's the extent of her personality since Shadow Dragon doesn't have much to it and she gets recruited in the very last chapter of Book 2. That said, as a unit... there's enough above saying her utility. Literally she ranks a 9 because I don't use Hammerne enough, but I recognize how great it is.

As for Colm, he gets three points as a Thief for... being the Thief for the first half of the game. He definitely gets to steal some useful things, but he doesn't have nearly the same utility that other thieves in the series have. Also, it's debatable typically in other games who's better between the thieves, but Colm is easily outclassed by Rennac or if he goes Assassin route he has Joshua/Marisa to contend with. And as a character, he has about the same level of personality as Chad. Very massive downgrade from the FE7 thieves.

Lethe I never used since she was kind of bitchy, but even without supports you gain some justification for her moodiness, maybe some day I'll use her. Of course, again didn't play the 3DS games but I at least know enough about Tharja to say she's rotten to the core and has pretty much the worst personality of any playable character in the series.

This topic series made me realize that I literally do not care about any character in the entire fire emblem franchise. I remember looking at the characters on the first day and being like "wow... there is no score that I would give to any of these. I just have no opinion on any of them." And this is coming from someone who has played a lot of fire emblem!

Anyway, just posting to say that Tharja is pretty hot.
