thats the easiest way to fight johnny

if you beat all his minions he turns the fight into a 1 on 1 fight just him vs mario and without the princess there to make you immortal the fight becames more difficult

I bought the Work Pants back in like Rose Town I think and theyre still the best armour for most of the characters tbh. The big boosts to atk and spatk and hp outweigh the few points of defense Id lose out on with newer armour

Just got back to town. I liked Johnnys little code of honour thing he pulled. As for Yardiovich, his AoE attack hit hard and Peach was basically healing almost every turn. Wouldve been tough without her. A couple of his attacks get totally nullified by the Safety Badge, which is nice

Yeah, I remember Yardiovich being one of the tougher fights in the game next to a few of the end game fights. He hits hard for that point in the game, but there's definitely more coming your way. I will say, the next couple stars you have left to get are a bit more time consuming than a lot of the first few.

Work Pants are Bowser's best armor until Barrel Volcano. It's really dumb how much they shafted his stats and equipment.

Also, if you go to Mushroom Kingdom after you unlock Land's End but before you unlock Nimbus Land, you can find a Samus cameo in the guest room of the Castle. And you can buy the gameboy off the kid in the inn for 500 coins and play it in the pause menu

remember the boss fight in boosters tower against knife guy and crate guy? thats the same crate guy
you gotta play a game with knife guy and win like 100 times to get a pass into the casino and then you gotta find the hidden entrance to it

After getting Geno the Hang Gun and learning Geno Blast (the one that hits everyone), he destroys groups of enemies easily. Now that Peach has gotten better equipment and gained a few levels so her hp isnt so low, her one downside of being fragile is pretty much gone. Mario Geno Peach is definitely the most practical team but Ill be switching it up now and then.

Between BiS and this game, I like Bowsers relationship with his troops. He was cool for giving his blessings to the troops in Monstro Town.

Monstro Town is nuts cuz every NPC has some purpose or sidequest with them >_> I love this town

Monstermama - Unlocks Sky Troopas to get to Bean Valley
Rat - Unlocks gardener in Rose Town and lets you start Lazy Shell sidequest
Chest - Keeps track of your hidden boxes (you get nothing for finding them all though)
Star - Unlocks final melody challenge in Tadpole Pond

Piranha Plant - Gives hint on how to open Culex's door
Thwomp - Getting him mad lets you collect the keep to Belome's treasure room
K-9 - Keeps track of your Super Jumps and gives you Mario's best armor and accessory

Culex - Optional super boss and gives you accessory that increases attack and defense by 50%

Terrapin - Runs item shop

3 Musty Fears - Gives you an accessory that increases your defense by 50%

Jagger and Jinx - Tough optional bosses that gives you one of the best accessories in the game

Plus the grass cliffside aesthetic is pretty cool

Bowser is fucked over by shit equipment and stats through most of the game. His final equipment is equal to the starting equipment of Toadstool, for example. This results in him being outclassed by everybody but Mallow in the physical attack department while having the worst magic attack and terrible magic defense. He is also every bit as slow as you would expect an ugly turtle bastard to be.

The only stats that Bowser excels in is HP.... He's OP when he joins until like the Sunken Ship then he slowly starts turning to shit

Yeah this is what I'm looking for. Because like, to the people saying "always", for booster's tower he literally is better in every stat than geno. It's at a certain point that geno overtakes him.

I feel like everyone was a valid option until after the sunken ship. Peach has been on the team long enough to have gained some bulk and Geno gets the Hand Gun, plus he shouldve probably got Geno Blast around that time. At that point its pretty clear-cut whos just better

Nope. he only has Terrorize when he joins. He learns Poison Gas, Crusher, and Bowser Crush through level up

Bowser Crush is okay for AoE damage. Crusher is completely fucking useless, Poison Gas is eh cuz poison is a useless status ailment, and Terrorize is alright cuz Fear is a pretty good status ailment >_>

People tell me this, but I've never noticed it. Maybe it's just that the other characters are overpowered in their stat growth. Bowser continues to rip through opponents right until the finish of the game.

Just got to the cloud city, please no spoilers. This scenario reminds me of Tapetas little introductory episode in Breath of Fire 2. Absolutely loved that game. Feels like an anime that undergoes a tonal shift halfway through, like Gurren Lagaan. Highly recommend both, lol. Play the SNES retranslation.

I loaded up my old save from it and took pics of everyone's stats at lvl 30. All bonus stats were whatever gave the most points through at the specific level, everyone has their best weapons, their best normal armor, and no accessories >_>

i never put the lazy shell on peach for 2 reasons

1 it makes her do joke damage and i like attacking with her frying pan and seeing her do damage equal to mario

2 it makes the game way to easy. the game is easy enough without literally making peach unkillable

When Peach says alive, so does everyone else.

Damn, splitting up the battle into 2 fields is a cool idea, wish the game did more of that. Wouldve been a way to have all 5 characters feel like active members of the adventure.
Final Fantasy VII did something similar for its final battle, but it was pretty poorly done there too, tbh.
FFV had a few moments in the game where the party would split into 2, most notably at the 2 towers where you were banned from either using magic or physical attacks.

also, Valentina is obviously designed to be a character you hate. Whenever something like that comes up, I always think of Wendy Oldbag from the Ace Attorney games. Just everything about her is absolutely detestable, the creators behind her are geniuses

at the end of the cloud castle, I tried jumping off at different angles but I keep falling through the clouds, I cant get those item boxes that are teased. I assume theyd somehow be available now
