1. Naturally, her child will always be the number one priority. You come 2nd. Your schedule and your time together will always revolve around the child. Theres no honeymoon phase. Freetime to travel and hangout will be always be a challenge.

2. You cannot raise the kid like you would your own. Sometimes kids need decipline. If the kid acts out, theres little you can do. This is a serious obstacle to overcome in a relationship. The mother will always be the final arbitrator.

3. Baby daddy drama. They get jeoulous when other men raise their kids.

4. Even if you work things out and you bond with the kids, in the event of a breakup, the pain of a breakup multiplies. Not only do you break up with your gf, but you break up with the kids you bonded.

Just get a gf with no kids. Theres plenty of women that turn 21 every year.

In my late twenties to early thirties, most women I dated / had flings with were single moms. The kids were never an issue. I played video games with them, ate pizza, and took them fishing. All the fun stuff with ZERO responsibilities for them. Plus most single moms are done having kids so their plumbing is fixed and no pull outs

Yes. You are both right. Because its my life. If I dont want that in my life then thats my choice. Questioning my ethics because I dont want do something for someone else that effects my life forever in the future is BS. No one has perfect Ethics but criticizing others for that is absurd.

There are starving children in Africa. If you have the money/assets to sell/donate everything and fly over to Africa and save lives then why dont you? Why dont you give up everything for the cause of helping others even if you dont want to? Is that absurd? Of course it is. However, Im not going to criticize someone for not making their life horribly inconvenient to help someone else.

This isnt like someone on the side of the road needs help changing a tire in the rain. This decision will completely change your life forever if you get married. If you decide to move on with that while not caring for the kid emotionally because the kid isnt yours... Was that really the right decision for anyone? The only thing you would be doing is making your life worse to benefit other people. Thats long term too.

If you want to do that then thats fine. There is nothing wrong with it. Criticizing others for not wanting to do that is what is getting me. At least respect that decision.

@The23rdMagus I don't think any man should be pressured to raise another person's child if they choose not to, and shouldn't be shamed for avoiding single mothers. However, they shouldn't make a big deal out of it either publicly. If they are, they're kind of being an ass and deserve to be shamed at that point. Also it isn't about an "unspoiled conquest". Some men prefer to be an exclusive family and raise their own kids and I don't think you should fault someone for that.
