If you don't want kids AT ALL, that's fine. If there's already kids involved, why is the emphasis always on "another man's children" and not "the kids might not like me" or "this interferes with our scheduling of dates"?

Yeah this is true and I don't get why these people can't see it. The other thing I see get brought up a lot is that somehow being a single parent is a mark against that person's character or judgement. Like relationships don't fail all the time for a variety of reasons. It must be because the dad is horrible and the mom made poor decisions.

It's obviously not the same. If you marry a woman & then eventually have a child with her, that's a huge difference between a relationship that begins with the woman already having a child.

Plus, a man is expected to place the woman in the relationship as his first priority while he will come in at best second to her kids. And I'm not saying the woman shouldn't act that way either. But a man who wants to be on the same level with a romantic partner, where they are both invested to similar levels in their relationship, means that he should logically avoid single mothers.

I think my fiance's daughter's dad is an asshole and a bad parent, I've been more of a dad to her than he ever has on his once or twice a year appearances. I'm still civil with him the rare times I have to see him and it's not something I have to deal with.

Hell I see my daughter loads and I barely have to "deal" with her mother.

The OP and many who agree with it have conflated a single mom with a deadbeat dad.

I would not date a single mom who outright says she's looking for someone to raise her child/children. I've seen dating profiles outright state this, and I pass these.

However, I have no issue dating a single mom who doesn't have any expectation that I get involved with raising the child or supporting them in any way financially while in the dating phase.

I've even said before that at least at this point in my life and especially if through online dating, it would be pretty difficult for a single mom to bring enough pros to the table for me to sign up to take on the baggage of her children in order to date her. My options aren't that limited yet. There's other baggage that I'm also not willing to sign up for right off the bat.

But that has nothing to do with her kids biologically not being mine. It's not as if I would be more likely to date a single mom who happened to be a sperm recipient of mine.

It's already answered. I didn't even see the need. Unless somehow it's my own child that I'd be adopting, which would be a really weird thing.

Unlike those for in this thread, those against (like myself) don't have any problem with other people doing that. If others want to adopt kids, or raise kids that aren't theirs, I think that's great. I don't think it makes them cucks or incels, that doesn't even make sense. And there are lots of kids that need that gap in their lives filled by strong mother and father figures. That's all awesome. But it's not for me. If I have a kid, I want them to be my kid. It's just that simple. I really don't get why you guys have such a huge problem with that, but it's time to let it go. Or you can sit here and keep trying to argue with me about it, but I have no issue with you, and my personal beliefs aren't up for debate, so I'm done with the conversation. Peace.
