TRoS is one of the worst movies ever created. Yep. Thought went into TLJ. Rian Jonson knows that Star Wars is about hope, so he wanted to make a movie where the central conflict is the loss of hope, and getting it back again. Its focus on subverting expectations ruined an otherwise decent enough set-up, and the stupid comedy scenes like Finn waking up from his coma and leaking medical fluid everywhere in a bubble suit just really didn't land. I think TLJ, while overhated for aspects like Rose and Luke Skywalker, was a pretty crummy product that reeked of Disney's "fuck you we're Disney" overproduction and gross commercialisation. Saying all of that, though - my least favourite scene of the sequel trilogy is their justification for bringing Palpatine back. Poe says "Somehow, Palpatine returned". That's it. He's a total fucking ass-pull.
