Its crazy how some people practically dont expect a black man to attempt to whooping your ass for calling him an n-word to his face. If you do that, expect a beating. Thats how much the word is offensive. You can say those people should go to jail if you want. Doesnt change the fact that the vast majority would be in ass beating mode once it is said.

How about ninjas? That way we could still sing along to rap songs without people attacking us OR messing up the rhythm. All things considered, I think each race should have to vote on what word is acceptable so that everyone can be in on the results, and each race also gets one word where, when uttered by a person not of your race, you get to do anything short of murder to that person and get off scott free. From my understanding black people prefer to be called either just black or Canadian if that black person is from Canada. Of course, there is much disagreement on this and it gets very confusing...but we all of course know that the n-word is definitely NOT the word to use lol.

Nah, you really shouldn't be surprised when someone slugs you if you have a habit of referring to them via racial slurs.

It's always a shame when people resort to violence, but literally all this guy had to do in order to avoid being hit was not to refer to a black man as the n-word. I don't blame the guy for slugging him.

The employee was apologizing before that was said and kept apologizing after, as you would when someone violently assaults you. Also, apparently torturing someone into confessing what you claim they did is apparently ok with many people here.

Also, lol at this logic. "We need to determine if a disrespectful word was used before we can condemn this prolonged beating." And wtf is this notion that people shouldnt be expected to control themselves when angry?

You know what violence does? It creates more violence. Talking with the man - explaining that the word is hurtful and WHY it is hurtful would be a much better solution. If anything, it makes the initial person question their reality - as well as potential witnesses of the scene.

Yes, because they were the 'smart' one here and didn't want to escalate.

That said, don't doubt for a second that the individual turning to violence will be able to live without someone attacking him in retaliation. It may not be 'B' in this situation, but certainly, someone WILL fight back at some point.

In fact, there's no reason to believe Macys could make that determination at all since it's highly unlikely their store cameras have audio. "Unprovoked" in this case means that the employee didn't start the physical violence.

Makes sense. I just assumed Macys investigation was asking witnesses. I highly doubt they did that on the spot or found shoppers who where present to ask them. I guess they could say they asked other employees but they could literally take what they say, ignore it and make a different statement.
