the issue I have now is that I only have 3 images that I feel are "worth" being prints

lots of my work is random individual character (for example, I have one for DQ V Hero, no one else)

sprites for friends, or sprites for b8ers

so Yea, I'll REALLY have to get to work

I think I might offer individual characters and group shots

maybe it'll make the group shots look like a better deal (Or the individaul prints are a rip off?)

If you do anything with Persona 5 and put it out on Twitter, mention the characters' voice actors' account in your tweet. They often retweet or like when people put out fan art like that, so it's a way to gain some visibility.

Heck, you could do that for any character you draw fan art for if they have a voice actor on Twitter, or even key people that worked on the game. Like mention Ono for Street Fighter stuff or Harada for Tekken stuff.

Though you probably shouldn't do that for commissions. I don't know what's the rule of ethics for that but usually I see people only mentioning the person that requested the commission itself.

I have a few friends that have purchased prints at cons. One is of Peter Venkman and another is Invader Zim

they said they were 20-25 dollars for t hem

I'm thinking maybe thats how much an individual print of mine should go and a group print would be for 30-35? That might be too much but I dunno either

I had a bunch of listings for a good long while, updated pictures, relisted and everything.
I even started undercutting people on very similar products, my quality was better!
...
Only had a handful of views. Like we are maybe talking a view or two a month for a listing.

Yeah, if you're going to sell online then you need to do a lot of work to build up an online fanbase first. Otherwise your stuff might be great but nobody will ever see it.

I kinda recommend not making any monetary investments (e.g. buying a printer and special print paper) unless you have a fanbase already. That's one reason why commissions are good - there's no investment required on your part, you just make custom sprites of people's OCs (or whatever) for cash.

What is the difference between retweeting and just liking the post? Especially since people can see your likes in real time on their timeline anyways

Well, I suppose if X Retweeted your art:

• X's followers can see the post on X's timeline forevermore
• People can reply to X's RT of your art instead of replying on your original Tweet
• There might be options in the Settings to manage who can see X's Retweets and Likes

But yeah largely it doesn't matter I guess.

Basically what Raka said. I think retweets are also higher priority than likes for showing up on people's timelines? (not sure on that)

Also an etiquette thing - in art twitter, people will get mad if you "retweet with comment" someone else's art, because any likes/RTs on your comment will go to you instead of the original post. Kinda silly but whatever, not worth arguing. Just always use the "retweet" option instead.

I'm used to Tumblr where when people like your shit, it goes into their own personal archive as opposed to showing it off on their account when they reblog it

so Twitter is ALREADY leagues above that since someone's likes are much more public

Yeah, there's definitely a grinding aspect to it.

There's this @pixel_dailies account that might RT your work and hold competitions and stuff, might be worth to take a look.

Also perhaps experiment with the presentation of your art. The sprite on white is good for clarity but not too visually exciting.
