Regarding food, clothes, whatever you wanna discuss.

I'm... pretty damn cheap, at least when it comes to spending on myself. I hate shopping for nicer clothes (I'm in gym shorts and a t-shirt whenever I can get away with it), often prefer cheap fast food to sit-down restaurants, and rarely buy games or consoles before a price cut. I prefer my local cheap grocer versus posh places like Whole Foods, and usually pick up store brands because I can't tell the difference between the 97 cent ketchup and Heinz.

My car is a 13-year-old Camry that I bought used, and I'm trying to get at least a couple more years out of it. I also like traveling on a budget, at least within reason. When I traveled to Guatemala last year, I enjoyed the street food way more than the considerably more expensive restaurant fare. Traveling on a budget is also one of the reasons I've never gone to Europe - it seems like a challenge to accomplish that over there.

What about you guys

More expensive than I'd like where food and drink are concerned. I really like good cocktails and food, and so I'm willing to spend quite a bit on those. Also with random items that I know I'll use a lot, I tend to look around for the best iteration of that item, which tends to be pricier.

Clothes and other stuff that's more decorative I'll typically spend less on (though willing to spend more if there's a functional reason, eg hiking gear)

Clothes are strictly functional for me. I generally never purchase them, like, ever. Unless I specifically need something, like when my friend got married and I needed a certain color dress shirt, or whatever. Otherwise I would probably never even consider the thought of shopping for clothes until I was literally out of clothes that didn't have holes or whatever.

My car is 18 years old and has 200k miles. I'll get a new one when I need a new one.

etc. etc.

I wouldn't say expensive, but not exactly cheap either. Like if I were going out already, I might prefer slightly nicer sit-down restaurant but not top of the shelf haute cuisine. Like...the menu does have appetizer options but not wine.

As for clothes, I don't mind buying slightly nicer ones if they can last me a long time. But that makes me pickier when buying clothing since if I don't really like it and I can't see myself wearing it at least semi-regularly, I just won't bother.
And my current wardrobe is quite sufficient already, though I want to buy another flannel shirt and a blazer eventually.

if i buy something like an appliances or something, I'll want it to be really good even if it's more expensive than what i should realistically be spending

but food and stuff im fairly easy to please. most of my expendable income goes towards stress shopping video games

Oh, if there's one thing my tastes are more expensive for it's definitely liquor. I blame my old boss who spoiled us.

I would be lying if I said I have never walked into a thrift store, tried on a dress, and purchased it.

Yeah, there is some context missing there.

cheap to medium

I pretty much dont have interest in super fancy things, but I also dont want total garbage either generally. like I would never buy clothes at Walmart but also Im not interested in high end stuff either. Im in the Macys zone.

at some point incompletely stopped caring about alcohol quality so my taste is very cheap there and relatively cheap for food too. I maybe just dont have the palette to notice the difference too much.

I think I do have a discerning enough palette (with food, maybe not with alcohol), but to me, the difference in quality is usually not worth the price. If I didn't care about having a significant other or a social life, I'd probably be cool with the dollar menu for like 90% of my meals out.

Quite cheap. I take a certain amount of pride in being able to spend less for comparable value on things. I buy most of my clothes second-hand and avoid big name brands. I typically go store brand for groceries unless it tastes bad (orange juice) and when I eat out I try to look for cheaper options (I don't care for the atmosphere of more gourmet places anyway). I don't own a car, but my bicycle is on the cheaper end. I buy the vast majority of my games used as well. When traveling, I never book tours or anything and I generally stay at a moderately priced hotel (I can't do hostels) or an internet cafe for shorter trips. When traveling within Japan I'll usually take the night bus rather than the more expensive bullet train if I have the time.

The two places I will go more expensive are technology and shoes, especially basketball shoes because I'd rather pay a little extra and not break my ankle. As for technology, I will pay extra for better performance (like faster internet, etc.) but still not expensive, just not as cheap as with other things.

When i go on vacations to las vegas/new york/miami, i tend to spend a fair bit

When im in the normal day to day life, im pretty cheap. I have enough stuff to occupy my time with a decent retro collection, fairly cheap gym membership, and some other things.

It depends on how frequently I buy said thing. Like since I have to eat food every I tend to spend less on it by eating fast food or buying groceries in bulk. However things like clothes and hobbies I tend to spend more on higher quality items so they last longer.

I barely spend anything on clothes since I usually get gifted a ton for holidays. I mostly splurge on food and technology/games. But Id say the majority of my money goes to bills, so I dont buy much for myself overall unless I get something rare like a gift card or a stimulus check.

Clothes I generally get something niceish once every six or so months and thats about it.

Relatively moderate for alcohol, I dont drink a lot but I usually get expensiveish stuff.

I think Ive only bought new games a handful of times, usually I just wait for sales unless its made by Nintendo.

Trying to save for a house right now too

Cheap-medium for most things. I don't make an effort to live frugally but I just don't buy stuff that much, and my food tastes are pretty lowbrow (I like fast food burgers and stuff). Also thanks to Steam sales I feel actively bad about paying full price for any game.

Medium for work clothes because I'm picky about what I like, so if I do find something I like, I'm willing to drop e.g. $50 on a shirt that'll last me the next few years. Cheap for casual clothes though.

Most everything would be below average. Car, clothes, housing, even electronics I'm pretty functional about. I'm definitely okay with old and used stuff. But if something doesn't work or becomes annoying, I'll definitely replace it.

Entertainment and alcohol I like to be cheap about. Pregame at home so you only need 1 drink at the bar, etc.

Food I'm probably above average on, but not much. I don't really like super expensive food, but I am not opposed to it occasionally if it's good. I hate the cheapest foods though. I'll always pay a bit more for something that's not garbage. But I also don't need the super crafted $5 apples or whatever.
