I dont understand why the officer was fired. In their employee contract it clearly states that you are allowed to neutralize a threat at all costs if you are being attacked. The officers were being attacked, on camera, with video evidence.... This is the grey area where I, a BLM supporter, start to lose respect for some individuals when I read the comments on social media.

According to you, the officers children can go fuck themselves. They dont deserve a father. If an officer is being attacked he should just take it, not do anything. problem is a taser is none lethal and he shot him 3 times while he was running away. it's different if he had a gun but he didn't. they should have called in backup and just chased him. he was drunk so doubt he could have got far. at worst could have shot him in the leg.

with everything going on killing a black man should be the last thing they're doing.

The dude already shot the cop once with the taser and it clearly hit since he staggered against the car, at that point, the other cop only had his gun to deal with him. That model of taser holds two shots as well so...

Why was a drunk man even on the road driving? Fuck him and fuck everyone who puts others lives in danger. I have ripped my uncle a new asshole when he got a DUI and I do not speak with him anymore. I have no respect for this shit. What happened here is sickening and intolerable treatment of the police. My mom beat my ass growing up if I even attempted to break the law. Meanwhile Im supposed to have patience for those that break the law willingly? Fuck that, if your parents didnt do their job than a cop will I guess.

We do know he was running and got shot twice in the back. There were multiple cops, they could have pursued him.

I don't know the details of this but if I'm a cop and I get tazed I would be terrified that while immobile the suspect would try and grab my gun to shoot me. I wouldn't give him a second chance to take me out. Not saying I would shoot, but my gun would be out and I would quickly be assessing whether or not I needed to fire it.

Yeah, personally i think he was probably correct in doing that. One thing i will say, is that i dont understand why after the police neutralize a suspect, why they dont immediately apply life saving measures. Like, if you mortally wound someone, you should probably instantly try to save their life, no matter who it is (unless circumstances prevent it). But these guys kinda just chilled while he died. I personally think THAT part is unacceptable, but they arent held accountable for that, even if they should be.

The guy was fired due to public pressure, and the overall hostile environment that has arisen over the past few weeks. Pretty soon cops wont be able to quietly fart in their squad car without being fucked with by the public. Its really only going to increase tensions until the point that cops just fucking quit, or they're unable to hire new ones.

Edit: and to add--i think if police did start to employ life saving measures to suspects they've wounded, that it would DRASTICALLY change their public image, and would actually help to put them back on a path to being an actual public servant. They look like pieces of shit standing around chilling while you go into shock, and die before the ambulance arrives. How many people could the police save if they had just stuck with the victim, applied pressure, or kept them conscious until the ambulance arrived? I think as police officers, they should be expected to do the same for a suspect, as they would for a victim if the circumstances permit it.

Maybe lethal force is not an appropriate reaction to a non-lethal action. Maybe killing should not be the default action if something doesn't go exactly as planned.

You can sit here and play Monday morning quarterback all you want and say it wasn't a lethal threat but all of this goes by in the blink of an eye when you're involved. This man was drunk, had already not only fought officers but wrestled a weapon away from them, then turned to aim that weapon at them while fleeing.

I agree that it's sad this man had to die over a god damn dui, but there's no gross misconduct here. It's a tragic series of events that shouldnt have escalated to the point that it did.
