if i find out the artist of something I've already been enjoying is awful, it usually hurts my enjoyment of their art, but not always to the point that I lose interest. Future work is often tainted, though.

if I know an artist is awful beforehand, though, I usually don't bother with their art in the first place.

Brand New is still one of my all time favourite bands and I still listen to them regularly, despite Jesse Lacey being a piece of shit.

You can just do both, y'know. You're allowed to separate art from context; you just can't tell other people to feign ignorance about context when it comes to practical application.

No. Why should I? Why would anybody want to? Meaning and beauty can come from the darkest of sources. Ignoring that reality is ignoring the reality of the human condition, and art. I for one prefer not to live under a security blanket.

Nah. By all means, enjoy his matches, but Hall of Fames in anything are not just about the ability in that vocation. If you're a shit person, you can't be in a Hall of Fame. Sorry.

You have to. Whether you like it or not.

I like R Kelley's music but I don't support the man's life choices.

Same could be said about Bill Cosby, Louis C.K. and a number of other problematic entertainers.

Something today reminded me of a LostProphets song and I had a sudden chill of nostalgia... followed by a sudden chill of disgust. Back in the day, Start Something was my most listened to CD of all time. And, now, I can't listen to any of their songs.

These poll results make no sense. If a serial rapist, murderer, cannibal made a life affirming, tear jerking love story, you all wouldn't want to know what it is about human nature that could make that possible and see how the movie reflects that?

Benoits situation was a tragedy, he was brain damaged so I dont really think of him as this piece of shit asshole, more like Fuck, if only he got the help he needed.

I dont think Vince McMahon is a bad/evil person, he just makes terrible business decisions.

Louis CK just has a weird fetish and thought they were into it, he didnt actually touch anyone.

Im trying to think of others.

Oh wait, Kevin Spacey, fuck, definitely him.

there's levels for me

i recently watched trumbo which has louis ck. i was fine, but he was a supporting character. i probably wouldn't watch a louis ck standup though, since it's all him.

i can watch baby driver, which has kevin spacey, who's got sexual assault stuff. i will not watch the cosby show, or a cosby standup ever again.

then there's the jk rowling thing. she's currently benefiting on all harry potter stuff. she will make money off the upcoming game. i won't buy it. but i bought bloodborne, which is lovecraft inspired. but he's dead and denounced his shit iirc before he died.

I blame Lucifer Sam.

But for real he most likely had some underlying conditions.
That coupled with a Rookie generation dealing with Psychedelics.
We really can't leave out the fact that the boomers, in ways, taught us how, Not, to do it.
