I mean, what I want to know is who is sending these police to these protests? Are they just deciding to go themselves? It seems to me that most of them are totally peacefull and don't need any police presence at all...and the only violence starts after the police are there.

IF it was looting, I get that, but that doesn't seem to be the case time after time.

I can explain it. US Police are trained to be twitchy and trigger happy to protect themselves and are given cover to allow them to attack at the mildest threat. Statistically there's a lot more violent crime from black people and so from their experience of most of their violent crime being from black people, they're going to be even more twitchy with black people.

Pattern recognition + trained to respond instinctively and violently = police attack black people for the slightest movement.

1. Absolutely horrible!
2. Where's that topic about the police who shot the guy who stole their taser and fled, and the people defending it b/c he "had a deadly weapon"? I want each and every one of them to try and defend the police tasing this defenseless man they already had in custody. Those police officers should get attempted murder charges if the taser's a deadly weapon, right?
3. One of the comments in that topic about how this (or death!) would've happened to any of the George Floyd bystanders if they tried to intervene reminded me of my own comments when trolls on here were blaming them for not stepping in, but put even more starkly:

It's one of the things that was left with me after watching that video. The poor helplessness of the bystanders completely unable to do anything other than plead for another man's life. A man's life who is slowly being murdered in front of your eyes and you can see it and you're pleading but those pleads are falling on deaf ears and maybe even spurring the c**t on. And you can't do anything to stop it. You can't touch a hand on the murderer otherwise you could be next.
What do you do? What do you do? What can you do? Oh phone the police! Wait a sec. They are the fucking police. Who do you seek for help? Maybe an ambulance if you can see past all the panic but would they believe you if you said you were watching an officer of the law murder someone? Would they help? What can you do? Nothing but watch a man be murdered in front of your eyes.
Jeez, if I had witnessed something like that I honestly think I'd be traumatised.

it depends, but mostly protestant VS catholic (orthodox has priests too, but not as familiar with orthodox).

a priest claims to be a proxy for jesus. this is "heretical" to protestants. ("none shall come to the father but by me")

a pastor is just the church leader, it's up to you as a protestant to contact jesus yourself.

(this is of course endlessly arguable on both sides since neither side can really be right; and of course I'm over simplifying it to avoid writing a whole essay on a gaming forum)

Either works. Partial defunding is still defunding, but "defund" is significantly shorter and snappier, which is valuable when working with the limited real estate of protest signage.

This is the first Russiagate statement to make me lol since someone online accused me of being a Russian agent because I live in an American town that has a Russian name.
