Seems like a decent place to hole up for the night, if nothing else. Agatha plops her stuff down and glances longingly at it, but you at least gotta scout the joint first. You don't see a whole lot out of the ordinary for a while, but that in itself is a bit odd, as you'd expect some homeless types. One office has a weird-looking device sitting on a desk.

b) ...let's give it a wide berth
c) ...let's bail on this whole place

She dashes off with the device to add it to the beginnings of a machine she's already put together. That means you and Slip are on your own to explore the rest of the place, apparently. It's spooky, and something is bugging you (beyond why there's a friggin' bomb on a desk) but the rest of the investigation proceeds without incident and turns up nothing of particular interest.

Not good! Not good not good not good! Lancer was already exhausted from the earlier fight! Amy Rose had only one option, and it was a pretty terrible one. Calling on a Command Spell, she forced Lancer into Spirit Form, and took matters into her own hands. Circling around the scary guy, she drove her hammer right into the frail-looking Master. The enemy Master staggered back under a series of strikes. Amy could do this! ...Or so she thought, but the Servant was already behind her. Amy was pretty strong for a Master, but she knew her limits. Time to bail! She made a break for her life....and got pretty far, before something pulled her back. Something was choking her.....and red hot PAIN slashed across her back. Was that...a voice? Was somebody....coming to help? She struggled to maintain consciousness, but didn't even feel the blow that finished her off.

Amy Rose (Sonic), Master of Lancer, has been killed.

Night has fallen, and nothing of particular interest has happened. You leave Agatha to her tinkering and get some sleep. Servants don't particularly need sleep, so you nod off to the sound of banging and clanking.

As morning comes, you notice Agatha is not in the greatest of moods. "This baby should be up and running by now! It's almost like something is preventing me from completing it!

1) That sucks, but you've got scouting to do.
2) Go scouting on your own while she stays at it.
3) Look around the schoolhouse again- maybe you missed something weird?
4) See if she wants help but otherwise let her keep trying.

Recon duty it is. It's light out, so perhaps you and Slip can find something new. Not like the science-y stuff is really something you can do much with, anyway. You round a corner, and.....there's a young woman around your age, and a tall man in dark clothes, with a red and black face. The woman seems even more surprised than you are, and the man is already in a fighting stance.

1) Talk

3) Call for help
4) Command Spell Agatha over to you
5) Fight

You hold up a cautionary hand, but the woman calls off her Servant(?) with wide eyes. "Marcel? Is that....you?" She seems vaguely familiar....maybe? Maybe not? Slip shrugs.

"Great to see you!" you say, y'know, like a liar. Seems like that's good enough for her, though, as she rushes in and gives you a hug. Is she...crying? "I thought you were dead! I thought they killed you! I've been trying to fight back for so long...."

You sure do wish you knew what she was talking about. There are a few "they" that could apply to you at various points in your life, but Quo Vadis would be the big one.

She grabs your hand and drags you along. In between declarations of how much she missed you, she fills you in that she is the Master of Assassin, the big guy stalking along behind you. They've killed the Master of Lancer already, and encountered Caster and Archer. Most of their efforts so far have been to resist Shinji Matou's grip on the city, as he's actively hostile to the entire Grail War. She pauses a sec, and warns you not to mess with the thermal detonator they left on the desk. So anyway, what brings you here, and what have you been up to?

Thermal detonator doesn't sound good. Should probably admit we've messed with that and find out how badly we messed up
