Where do you keep your phone at night?

I tend to keep my phones on charge when not using them. This probably isn't healthy for the phone battery but eh I'd hate to be caught out with a dead battery.

I keep it close to me on the charger.

I do sometimes forget to charge it, but that's why I carry both a charger to use at work, and a portable charger for emergencies.

Charge it, still. Normally in the car on the way to work. Also, at work. Even if I left my stuff at home, I have spare chargers are work. And other people leave stuff, too. Also, I have a portable charger I normally carry. It takes fucking forever to fully charge, but last for a long time, as well... So, I'm usually good... Haha.

Other side of the room. It's my alarm clock.
If I have to get up and walk over to turn it off, that's good.
When I leave it right beside my bed, I seem to have a bad habit of turning off the alarm and drifting back to sleep...

Doesn't matter for me. Once I did that and somehow threw the phone under my bed in my sleep.

I too use my phone as alarm. I don't need to have it on the other side of my room though as at this point I'm programmed to get up when I hear my alarm no matter what unless I've had a few the night before.

This except I just go back to bed and sleep some more then question why I even set the alarm in the first place and I should sleep earlier so that doesn't happen as much.

I have a charge valet next to my bed. It organizes the chargers and cables and stores my phone, tablet, 3DS, Kindle, Buds, and smartwatch, and it has a place for my glasses. My phone, tablet, and watch automatically go into Do Not Disturb mode after 10 pm until the next morning. I plug the phone in each night because I use about 50% of the battery each day. I plug in my tablet every 2-3 days because it only draws about 20-30% per day. My watch can go about 4-5 days on a charge so I only charge it every 3-4 days.

Huh? Phone sitting unused over night will lose like 0 to 1%, it doesn't discharge.

I cycle my phone between 45 and 85% and charge it about 20 minutes in the middle of the day another 20 minutes in the evening.

Nah. You're fine. Modern smart phones recognize when the battery is full and stop charging, then use the power cord as it's power source to keep it on while not draining or charging the battery.

I keep a charger in my car so if I need to leave the house without charging I will plug it in as soon as I get in the car.

Even ignoring the impact of trickle charging (which may or may not occur depending on your phone), keeping the phone stored near 100% for 8+ hours every day is a stress on the battery that causes capacity to noticeably degrade

Depends the phone. My old phone did a lot but the battery wasn't great to begin with. I however now have a S8 that after testing last night dropped a very small fraction of charge while left unused all night and I'm currently at 44% after having it off charge all day with some usage.

Edit: I also upgraded to wireless charging.
