She couldn't find the wifi symbol despite me describing what it looks like and exactly where it's located. I ended up having her go through Settings after 30min. When I asked her to click on the giant Windows logo at the bottom left of her screen...she was pressing the ACER logo at the top of her keyboard with her finger despite knowing what the Windows logo looks like.

True, the amount of people actually willing and able to learn is tiny compared to those that constantly run to you with the exact same problem. More often than not it's just plain unwillingness to learn rather than stupidity.
My moms (55 and 43) had no experience whatsoever, have learned a lot and now use Google to research solutions before they ask me for help.
My 35 year old sister learned how to work with computers in school, needed to do a lot of work using it in her senior year and now calls me to ask how to cut/paste text or files despite me telling her each and every time that every available action is listed when you use the right mouse button.

I mean agree with you that it sucks and they should learn how to perform basic tasks for their jobs, but the notion that they should know it because they've been around longer is flawed, imo. It's well establish that it becomes much harder to learn new skills as you get older, and it helps that most of us our age have been immersed in a world of rapidly developing technology since we were young lads.

I mostly hate how slow boomers are. Whether it's the line at the bank, the line at Walmart, the slow driver on the freeway or whatever it is they are doing, they give no fuck about how slow they are. There's no sense of urgency at all in what they are doing. I mean it's fine if they want to do this so long as it doesn't inconvenient other people but they are so inconsiderate that they don't care how slow they are and how long they hold up the line.

Every time I'm queuing at a store, I wonder why the idiots in front of me don't take out their cash or cards while standing there doing nothing. Older women being the worst offenders with multiple purses and wallets they need to sift through.
Yesterday there was a woman who needed to call her husband for the PIN... Seriously? The thought that you might need the code in order to pay didn't cross your mind until the cashier tells you the amount?

People who are tech illiterate are definitely frustrating but are not the worst.

The worst ones are the asshole heifers who order something 3 fucking days before Christmas that clearly states it takes 1-2 business days to leave the warehouse, then choose Standard shipping and have the gall to call you on Christmas eve bitching that we ruined her kid's Christmas. Some of the real special ones would threaten to the put the kid on the phone so we can break the news. One year the girl I sat next to said go ahead. The kid got on the phone and she just said "Hi, I'm one of Santa's elves and we're really sorry but it's taking a bit to make it, we'll get it to you but it'll be there next week." The kid just goes "Ok, cool thanks!" and handed the phone back to the mom who just hung up.

Then there are the scammers, particularly the ones who won't give up when you've got then dead to rights. I won't be rude but I will give you clear indications that I know you're full of shit, I just won't come out and say, "No, you're full of shit". At a certain point, give up. It's one of the only reasons I liked being a supervisor, was being able to be a bit more blunt about it.
