This actually happened once, to the most tech-illterate person in my building (who is also a VIP).

Me: *teaching him how to sign into his assigned Surface Pro* "Okay, now press the Enter key."
Him: "What's the Enter key?"
Me: *internally* "Are you serious?"

Note that his position requires him to make constant use of PCs.

I love how managers and higher ups don't know the most basic shit of their company. I basically trained people like 3 levels above me all the way up the the head guy how to do shit involving customer service

I mean agree with you that it sucks and they should learn how to perform basic tasks for their jobs, but the notion that they should know it because they've been around longer is flawed, imo. It's well establish that it becomes much harder to learn new skills as you get older, and it helps that most of us our age have been immersed in a world of rapidly developing technology since we were young lads.

They were young when computers were becoming widespread so thats why i said no excuses. Its not like we're asking them to take a physics course at age 90 when the last time they learned anything math related was 70 years ago

Last week I spend 40min on the phone trying to get a 64 year old woman's laptop connected to her new BF's wifi. This woman spends 12+ hours daily on her laptop and has done so for a decade. She couldn't find the wifi symbol despite me describing what it looks like and exactly where it's located. I ended up having her go through Settings after 30min. When I asked her to click on the giant Windows logo at the bottom left of her screen...she was pressing the ACER logo at the top of her keyboard with her finger despite knowing what the Windows logo looks like.

Ok I was going to come in here and defend but that's hilarious.
