05.24 : Another Five More Short Graybles - ... it was more Graybles. One Lemongrab eats the other Lemongrab. That was the hilight.

05.25 : Candy Streets - Finn and Jake are on the case as they need to find out what happened to Lumpy Space Princess. She claimed someone stole something from her, but she was in hysterics and Princess Bubblegum gave her something to calm down... which caused her to pass out. All she said was "Pete-Za Sasasasasasas". They go to her hotel room and find some blood on the carpet as well as what looked like a fight. First they get BMO to start analyzing the blood and then they go across the street to the pharmacy and ask if anyone came looking to stop bleeding. The worker said that did happen, and it was Pete Zasafrass. They hunt him down and catch him, throwing him in jail. He claims his innocence, but the boys aren't buying it. BMO shows up and it turns out the blood wasn't blood, it was pizza sauce. They figure out that Pete was not what she was saying, she was saying Pizza something. Pizza Sassy's! They head down there and find that someone delivered pizza to her that night! Meanwhile, Lumpy woke up and went back to her room. The boys track her down and it sounds like she is fighting someone... but turns out she is holding the pizza delivery dude hostage and that he "stole her heart". They help him get away and then go off on another adventure!

05.26 : Wizards Only, Fools - Princess Bubblegum is trying to help one of her people who has the cold. She has an inoculation for him, but he doesn't want to take it as he wants "magic" instead. She claims that magic is just science that people can't figure out yet and there is no magic. He refuses still, so she decides to go to Wizard City to get a Cold Magic. Finn and Jake go with her and they all pretend to be wizards, despite finding out shortly afterwards that pretending to be a wizard can be a death sentence. They talk to a shop keeper, and PBG refuses to just buy the damn Cold Spell, instead arguing with the owner about what is in there besides "Magic". They are found out and eventually arrested. The Grand Wizard agrees to let them go if PBG says that Wizards are Cool, but she refuses. They are thrown into jail, where eventually she is in a knife fight to the death with someone. Finn and Jake had smuggled in their Cold Spell, and find out it is actually cold as in ICE, not for a common cold. They crack it open and freeze the area, using that to escape. PBG then forces the inoculation on her resident.

Starchy having the cold was one of the most adorable things. Good to see youre blazing through these episodes. You went through some of my favorites recently.

Yeah, recently the wife and I were kinda feeling lazy and instead of "doing stuff" we watched episodes. It helps that S4 and 5 in particular have been strong.

5.27 : Jake Suit - Finn wears Jake like a suit, and it turns out that he is a little tough on Jake. Finn tells him to basically toughen up, cause bruises and stuff are like kisses from the universe. They test out the theory as Jake pilots Finn's body. He makes him embarrass himself in front of Flame Princess and her family, though she figures it out and laughs about it. It culminates with Finn piloting Jake's body into a volcano and threatening to burn him alive. Finn tells him to bring it on, and Jake relents, agreeing with Finn. Finn then wears Jake like a suit again and THROWS THEM INTO THE VOLCANO!

5.28 : Be More - BMO is acting kinda funny at the start of the episode, seemingly deleting critical files to get... I dunno, high? BMO ends up deleting some crucial data and is starting to fail, and Finn and Jake finds her. BMO says she didn't do any of it, and directs them to the facility she was made in to get replacement files. The facility is for MO's only, so Finn and Jake disguise themselves. They want BMO to get the files without a total system erasure, so they have to be sneaky. They are eventually found out as they try to update BMO, and the entire facility hunts them down. Eventually after an awesome roller coaster type ride, the three crash into the bottom of the facility. They're about to be vaporized when BMO finally says her name and the others bow. A voice calls out to BMO, and it turns out the dude who CREATED THE MO'S 1000 YEARS AGO IS STILL ALIVE?! Granted, when Finn asks if he is human, he ducks the question. Anyways, turns out BMO was designed for fun and to be a playmate for his eventual son, but he never had one. Instead, he let BMO out into the world to find someone to take care of and be a playmate to.

Gotta love BMO episodes!

Be More was one of the last episodes I watched as the show was airing. After that episode came out, I didn't watch any new episodes at all until the show finished, and then I did a total watch through of the show beginning to end probably about 10 months ago.

not particularly relevant, I just thought I would mention it because that made Be More really stand out in my head. Excellent episode.

Glitch is a Glitch - I honestly kinda hate this episode. The animation style is all messed up purposefully and the story is about Ice King setting a computer virus free that is supposed to leave the world to just himself and PBG. Finn and Jake save the day with weird glitches happening throughout the episode.

BMO said that they weren't the ones doing the deleting. So either BMO was lying and "getting high" for kicks, or someone else hacked into BMO and tried to bugger them up.

5.29 : Sky Witch - Was Princess Bubblegum wearing a shirt from Marceline? She smelled it in NICE AND HARD when she woke up in this episode, and a picture of them together is in her wardrobe. Anyways, PBG got the boys and some others together as she fears that there is a threat coming to the Candy Kingdom. She is going to teach them to fight against a sleep spell... but everyone falls asleep except for Cinnamon Bun. Marceline shows up and says she tracked down the Sky Witch and it is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY.... REALLY important to her to see her. The forest she is in is covered with barrier spells and she needs PBG's help. This seems slightly awkward between them, as they obviously have a history together. Marceline takes her away via flight. They reach the forest and the first barrier is that they need to be "calm"... which Marcy has a tough time with. Turns out this is all about Marcy's doll, which PB finds ridiculous. I'm getting the feeling these two really love each other but are just not compatible in so many ways, so they fight the urge to be together since it always becomes a fight and then they break up.

They eventually make it into the Sky Witch's house. While Marceline fights with the Crabbit.... Crobbit... Crow-Rabbit, PB finds out that Sky Witch purchased the doll from Ashe, that jerk. She exchanges the shirt she was wearing for the doll, as it has even more sentimental value.

5.30 : Frost and Fire - Flame Princess and Finn are having a nice date together when Ice King comes to basically be Ice King. Flame Princess doesn't take it well and kicks the crap out of him. That night, Finn has a dream which he loves involving FP kinda toasting his buns... so to speak. Determined to see it again, he goads FP And Ice King into fighting again, this time though Ice King wins. The dream that night sees the COSMIC OWL show up and Ice King freezing his buns. Jake tells him that he must get the dream once more to see what the Cosmic Owl needs to say to him. Finn makes up notes that each of them send to each other, and they fight in a great war. Finn passes out from the heat and dreams once more about FP, but this time she basically fucks him up and walks away, with the Cosmic Owl saying "You blew it". Finn does the right then and saves Ice King, and tells them both it was his doing and he was sorry. FP was hurt by this betrayal and now needs some time alone. =(

5.31: Too Old - Finn, on the rebound from breaking up with Flame Princess, lies to Jake and PB about each other so that he could go alone with PB to the Lemongrabs. He is trying to get with PB. The one Lemongrab is far bigger than the other now and seemingly meaner. This is likely due to trying to eat the other one that happened a few episodes prior. Anyways, they are confusing and terrible as all hell AGAIN, and PB leaves and finds Lemonhope, a young lemon with a wonderful ear for the harp. She wants to release him into the Candy Kingdom, but Big Lemonhope denies this. Finn wants to pull a prank on BLG, which annoys PB at first, but she thinks it is a good idea. It gets them sent into the dungeon, which was the whole point. Eventually they break out, with BLG eating his smaller brother/clone in the process. Finn again says they should prank him, but PB gets mad and says his idea was dumb, but it was part of her really good idea. BLG then zaps all his people into attacking Finn, PB, and Lemonhope. All hope seems lost, but Smaller Lemongrab climbs out of BLG's head and calls for sanity, and for Lemonhope to leave and come back to save them all. On the walk home Finn realizes that PB is not for him, as she is too old and not really what he is looking for anymore. He wants to patch things up with Flame Princess.

5.31: Earth and Water - Interesting possible partner episode to Frost and Fire, as it shows Flame Princess on the splash card. Flame Princess is hanging out not understanding why people lie about stuff, and we see that Princess Bubblegum is watching her. She wants to find a way to bind her powers some so she doesn't... you know, destroy everything. She explains it to FP by saying she will muzzle her emotions, which FP is cool with. Ice King is staying with Finn and Jake since his house was burnt down, and he gave Gunter the crown to fix everything. However, Gunter created ice snakes and they were attacking everything, so they called PB for help. PB leaves everything to testing FP to Cinnamon Bun, which goes as well as you'd expect. Flame Princess finds out it was PB who ended up having her be imprisoned by the Flame King, and FP decides to "go home". She overthrows her father and becomes... Flame Queen? I dunno. Anyways, she has only one rule, everyone be honest. Finn and PB meet up with her and Finn apologizes, but FP says that while they are cool now, they won't date anymore as she needs to stay there. =(

Ahh Earth and Water was quite the episode. The Flame Princess relationship was a good one and really molds Finn for his future relationships. Wish it could've lasted but hey doesn't always work out.

I liked it because it was Finn just being a teenage boy going through the motions of being a teenager, it was so real and human in a world of magical magic biz.

It was a lot harder to get through as it was airing, because the entire character arc aired over a span of two years or so.

5.33 : Time Sandwich - Jake is doing something with cooking. Looks like it will be delicious. He literally put in his own tears and Lobster-Soul. MAGIC MAN!!!! Fuck you Magic Man. He stole the sandwich! He left with a riddle for Jake to solve to yet his sammitch back. Magic Man puts himself into a time slowed bubble. BMO says they will help, but seems to be making a skateboard video. Which is exactly what he did. Lousy liar! PB comes to check it out and fails. She then calls Marceline, while Jake is sad. Marceline tries to plunge into the field and it does nothing. Jake wanders into it as a sad boy, and that is the answer to the riddle! He must be sad to move through the time field. The sandwich was delicious!

5.34: The Vault - Finn is sleepwalking. In his dream some gal keeps grabbing him. He doesn't remember it cause he puts it in the vault, so he doesn't remember. Jake tricks Finn into playing a game that regresses his mind. He thinks back to his past lives, including the girl from the dream... who was a thief of some kind? Interestingly she is missing an arm, just like Finn lost in the alternate timeline. Anyways, she was alive during the early days of the Candy Kingdom, but PB was still in charge. Interestingly, the Candy Kingdom was built on a radioactive river they filled with candy. They become fast friends and Shoko helps PB create the Gumball Guardians. PB makes her an arm for her help. Shoko has second thoughts about stealing from her, but feels she has to. She steals the amulet but is knocked into the radioactive waste, where nobody can save her. Turns out she got mutated and left the river, and died in the spot of the tree house. Finn wakes up and calls PB over, and he smashed floorboards in the kitchen and finds the amulet and gives it back to PB.

Woah. That episode was all kinds of important.I

5.35 : Love Games - Finn and Jake are having a podcast about his Finn's recent love woahs. Finn says he is done trying to date princesses. Slug Princess needs Finn to marry her though, to save her kingdom. Turns out her younger sister married some dude and if she doesn't get married soon, she loses the kingdom to her EVIL YOUNGER SISTER AND BROTHER-IN-LAW! Finn goes along with it for now. They get married sorta. Trials of Glarb are called between the sisters! The couple most in love will rule the kingdom. The first trial is a song of love! He sings a song about not being able to get over Flame Princess. Meanwhile, the brother-in-law has a sore throat and cannot sing. Finn wins the song. The second is about who spoons better, which Finn doesn't wanna do at all... so Guillermo wins the second one. I assume Guullermo isn't actually real at this point. Finn goes to talk to him, and yeah it is fake. She is disqualified for the trials.

5.36 : Dungeon Train - Jake thinks Finn is sad. Jake tells him not to take it so seriously. They run into what looks like an.... Infinity Train? (love that show), and it blocks their path. The train goes around in a circle. They jump on and some dude attacks them. Finn beats him up and they take him stuff. Each car on the train his different monsters they fight, and they keep going. Jake starts to get bored, but Finn loves it. They keep going... and Jake grows to hate it. Jake eventually spots a future orb which shows Finn as an old man still on the train. After a nap and Finn becoming a boss character, Jake tries to take him on. Interesting, he is saying he is 10 times stronger than Finn, before Finn uses a spider web gun to gum up his stuff. Finn looks in the future glass and sees that Jake stays with him forever, and he understands this is bunk. He says he will stay on and play for another week or so, which Jake says is just him being crazy. Finn reassures him and tosses him the orb, which shows them together in the tree house again.

5.37 : Box Prince - A box shows up outside the tree house that has a face on it. Turns out a kitten is inside. Finn follows it to a box kingdom where kittens are in boxes. Turns out our kitten is the Cat Prince and got switched out for an imposter. Finn moves in to help. Jake and BMO argue about why he isn't helping at all, while Finn finds the true prince's crown! The residents won't believe them, and a joust challenge is called! Meanwhile, Jake let's us all know that floss is for losers! The joust turns into a whole wide battle across the kingdom. Finn cannot tell the two potential prices apart, and then questions if it was a kingdom at all as the cats all play with him.

Finn actually originally put her in his Vault at the end of season 3 episode The Creeps, with the haunted murder mystery mansion prank.

I used to think that but I was wrong, "Infinity Train is from the wonderful mind of writer and artist Owen Dennis (Regular Show). The animated series is based on his widely popular 2016 animated-short about Tulip (Ashley Johnson)."

5.38: Red Starved - Finn and Jake are in the Ancient City for PB with Marceline. Jake ends up causing a cave in. They are stuck, and Jake ate the "red" that they brought for Marceline. Jake has to tie her up so she does not go feral and drink his blood. Finn goes to find something red and finds a weird red light shining onto a piece of glass that turned people into sand. He finds that a giant turtle with a red third eye thing was going to overthrow his home. The other guy is long dead now though, so Finn tries to grab the red emerald. Meanwhile Jake continues to freak out as Marceline goes more feral. He is also hungry and has the idea of cooking Marceline by lava. Turns out Finn is colorblind and the Emerald is green. Right as everything is going to shit, PB shows up and Marceline sucks out her low grade red. She also called her Bonny. The Spoon of Prosperity they found for her gave her back her colour and regular size.

5.39: We Fixed A Truck - Finn found a truck to start the episode. Turns out none of the residents of the tree house knows about cars. However Bananaman does! He explains how a vehicle works... in some detail, with a song. Gotta love Weird Al. They work together through the day, and BMO decides to work on it at night. Bananaman also stays the night and fixes things, hoping they can all be best friends forever. As they drive around Bananaman finds a sexy Bananagirl. They then save PB despite concerns from BMO that she is a reptilian replica... which turns out to be true! They sacrifice the truck and the bananaman peel to kill it. Bananaman then is arrested for public indecency as he is naked.

That is fair. Sometimes I often don't have monumental thoughts on an episode beyond it giving me a few chuckles. But that is valid criticism.

5.40: Play Date - Ice King is still living with our boys. Jake is starting to get annoyed by it and wants him kicked out. Jake will go as far as murdering IK apparently. It is nice to see IK getting an episode after being on the backburner for awhile. They invite Abracadaniel over to annoy IK and the two become fast friends. They eventually force Finn and Jake to break a family heirloom and Jake is taken away by a demon. Ice King and Abra leave to go back to the fixed (for weeks) Ice Kingdom! That took one.... hell..... of a turn?

5.41: The Pit - The Demon has Jake, and steals his blood like Joshua stole the demon's blood. Rainicorn brings over a tape that shows Joshua creating a portal to the demon realm... as well as some... other stuff. >_> We see Joshua defeat the demon, sorta, while Finn and Rainicorn find a way into the demon realm and rescue Jake. Cool end to that two parter, showing how different Jake is from Joshua, as well as the Flame Princess callout.

5.42: James - I don't think we know a James. Episode starts with the boys in suits and crying. I think it is a funeral? A week ago James was alive. He is... an ice cream bar? He is helping PB and the boys with something to do with samples. They find "Toxic Creatures" from "Another Time", again shades of the history of the Mushroom War. James is annoying the whole time and very skeevy. It seems James is forced to sacrifice himself by PB to save the group. PB can clone James as he is candy.

This episode really hammers home the callousness of PB. I mean, I get it. She can create life from candy, and thus candy people are not as inherently important as flesh and blood people like Finn... but it's just cold.

5.43: Root Beer Guy - We meet RBG, who seems like a 9-5'er who is totally bored with life. In the night he saw PBG being abducted by Finn and Jake. He questions them and is threatened by Finn... who told RBG he didn't see nothing. I like episodes where it shows Finn and Jake's adventures from other characters points of view. Very much like a detective noire type episode. Loved how it was all a test.

5.44: Apple Wedding - Treetrunks is getting married! For some reason Finn is tasked with keeping Lumpy Space Princess from "Crashing the wedding" (why would she do that?), and Treetrunks wants only the KING of Ooo to do the ceremony, which PBG has huge issues with. Have we ever met the King of Ooo? I mean, it stands to reason if she is a princess, there could be a king, but.... huh? The episode just spirals into everything going wrong, with LSP trying to BE the bride, and PBG crashing the "King's" Zeppelin into the wedding. It is bizarre and weird and... pretty much what you would expect from the show. Why does she hate King of Ooo? I mean, he seems like a sheister, but...

5.45: Blade of Grass - Needing a new sword for Finn (since they broke Joshua's), the boys go to the market and buy a Grass Sword that is totally awesome. However, it appears to be cursed! I'm assuming this will likely be a story point moving forward. For some reason the audio mixing on this episode was off and the music was WAY louder than the speaking. Overall it was a really good episode though, and it's nice to see Finn get himself a new weapon.

5.46: Rattleballs - Finn has decided to rededicate himself to being PBG's Knight... in very annoyingly ways. She has to physically order him to "relax" after he spent 3 weeks milking a Mink to get the best milk ever for her. Finn eventually stumbles upon a robot named Rattleballs who has a unique tie to PBG. LOVED this episode, again a nice little window into the... I'm gonna say fucked up nature of PBG. If this robot DESIGNED to kill calls out PBG for her bloodthirst... that is messed up.

5.47: Red Throne - Flame King and "Don John" work together to overthrow Flame Princess. And yes Finn, you got "showed up" by Cinnamon Bun... BIG TIME! Why does Finn gotta be a moron when it comes to FP? Again, cool episode furthering the overarching narrative of Ooo.

5.48: Betty - I won't spoil it for anyone who is in this topic who hasn't watched it. I kinda wish it was a two part episode and had a bit more time to make it even more awesome, but still... wonderful.

5.49: Bad Timing - Lumpy Space Princess is a fucking bitch and that is why we love her. She also straight up kinda murders a good dude in this episode because she thought PBG was going to steal him away. Beautiful Johnny, we hardly knew ye!

5.50-5.51: Story of Lemonhope PT1-2 - PBG is trying to instill in Lemonhope the need to save his people, but Lemonhope just wants to actually USE the freedom given to him by Thin Lemongrab and his people to you know... veg. What follows is the exploits of Lemonhope as he decides what needs to be done as he is plagued by dreams and nightmares of his lost freedom and his lost people. The ending was really powerful, and I liked that Lemonhope kinda became his own person rather than being a tool for anyone in particular.

5.52: Billy's Bucket List - Finn meets Canyon, Billy's Ex. Together they go to his old place and find his bucket list. Together they complete some of the tasks and Finn finds out some rather huge information to end Season 5.

I didn't get it myself, but apparently Bubblegum explained at some point that CB was "half-baked." He literally gained intelligence by being in the Fire Kingdom and getting blasted because he finished cooking.

Also, I am beginning to suspect that Princess Bubblegum is REALLY messed up. Like, she could easily become an antagonist levels of messed up. Her absolute hatred for magic despite it literally doing things she cannot do even if she tries to replicate it with science is really problematic. She uses people because she has little concept of mortality. She treats Finn well enough but I am going to guess that she does that only because of how useful he and Jake are.

With Finn's father now coming into view for the series, I wonder if maybe PBG used him in a similar way. He was useful and strong so she used him to protect her interests.
