You know they just released a BMO special on HBO Max right? It's the first of a set of 4 specials that focus on separate characters.

I haven't watched it yet or read any reviews at all, so I don't know how good it is.

From my understanding, only one of them is a BMO special. The other three are going to be centered around other characters.

4.12 - Gotcha : LSP cannot get the boys off her Lumps, and then tries to write a book about how to use your lumps to get men. First test subject? Finn and Jake. LSP trying to be sexy is always weird and funny, and LSP falling for Finn cause he is lumpy on the inside? Oh God. Also the excerpt of her book is hilarious.

4.13 - Princess Cookie : ... are we starting with a hostage situation?!? XD. The fact that Mailman won't work for Jake but Milkman did? Oh god. The cookie threatening to smash his face??? Hehe. He wants to be a Princess, but PBG laughed in his face? Holy fuck, he tried to commit suicide. Dark

4.14 - Card Wars : Jake sucks at trading card games and Finn has to take a dive so he doesn't act like a sulky little bitch. This hits too close to home. LOL.

4.15 - Sons of Mars : Oh fuck, it is that weird Magic Man. Something from space is coming to get him? Magic Man was sent to Earth from Mars for 200 years. So he runs into Finn and Jake, switches places with Jake, and they take him to Mars instead of Magic Man to... kill him. Magic Man has a transporter to take him back but he needs to feel love to use it. Finn uses it to go to Mars and....the Earth is literally smashed with a huge hole in it. Fuck man.

Magic Man turned the shadows to life, turned the water to air, and made everyone bald. Also the King of Mars is Lincoln?

Did humans travel to Mars? What in the fuck is happening? MY NEW PRISON IS SHAME!!

4.16 : Burning Low - Princess is back!!! Her and Finn are so cute together. I guess it was a date? Cute. PBG is meanwhile collecting taxes from their house. PBG freaks out about Finn and Flame Princess getting together. I'm assuming that if Flame Princess is pissed off she will destroy lotsa stuff. He finally told off PBG for basically kinda well... somewhat of a tease? Turns out if FP kisses someone she can destroy the world. Zoinks. FP and Finn do kiss, but Jake stops the world ending reaction. Finn still thinks PBG is jealous as the episode ends. PBG is kinda a bitch in this episode. Her whole like, "You have to be my hero" mentality is horse-shit.

4.17 : BMO Noire - I'm gonna assume this is an episodic episode after the somewhat heavy last couple. Finn lost a sock and BMO is on the case! At first s/he suspects Ronnie the Rat. Never trust Ronnie.

Lorraine was next, a previous lover of BMO's and currently with Ronnie. But she is also with Bebe, who has the sock. Bebe blames Ronnie, but is murdered before we can get the whole picture, BMO framed for the death. Ronnie apparently used the sock to grab some treasure. But it was Lorraine who framed everyone and took the treasure. BMO let her go after she told him where the sock was.

... this was far more entertaining than it had any right to be.

4.18 : King Worm - Finn is trapped in his dreams by King Worm who is looking to syphon off all his life energy. We find out that the biggest fears Finn has involve something about his childhood, the ocean, the Lich, and Bubblegum basically treating him like a child. Not a bad episode, though I was hoping to get maybe something a bit more deep. Who knows, maybe I totally missed something.

4.19 : Lady and Peebles - Lady and Princess Bubblegum are tracking Finn and Jake, who were battling the Ice King into a weird Black Cave. They enter and find it is a weird mix of old school technology and like... I dunno, sinew? Like, fleshy bits? Turns out Ricardio had attacked the Ice King and used his body to make himself a body, as well as poisoned Finn and Jake. He wants to be married to PBG. She freaks the fuck out and destroys him, saying she is not impressed with his science. We then find out that Lady is pregnant with Jake's puppies!

4.20 : You Made Me - Oh god Lemongrab. And oh god, why did you make a second one Princess Bubblegum? This is UNACCEPTABLE.

Ricardio is voiced by George Takei, which is really fun. Later on, they'll have a few TNG peeps in guest roles.

4.21 : Who Would Win - Finn and Jake run into The Farm, a sentient barn (with barnyard animals) that is apparently unbeatable in a fight. The boys take this as a challenge and train, but Jake is taking his videogame more seriously than the training. This leads our boys to fight one another and fight DIRTY! They both want to take on the Farm on their own, since they're mad at the other. They both get KO'd and meet "The Dream Warrior", who tries to sell them a car. However, in their infinite wisdom, the boys realize that he is telling them to fight dirty against The Farm. They blind him with mud, then "pull down his pants" and bite his butt. They become the Brogends who defeated The Farm. Yup.

4.22 : Ignition Point - The boys are playing with Flame Princess, as she blows up bags of their smelly farts and burps. This makes it gross smelling and FP laments the loss of her scented candles at the castle. She doesn't want to go back cause the Fire King might be a dink, so Finn and Jake go instead. While there they hear a conspiracy to assassinate the King! They stop the plot only to find the would-be assassins are the kings nephews, and Flame King snuffed out the REAL King (their father) to get a hold of the throne. Finn asks the evil Fire King if Fire Princess is evil, and if she could be changed to good. He says it is possible, and the boys return to see Flame Princess sleeping soundly. They leave her the candles, but their flames are her father, telling her to "Be Evil"

4.23 : The Hard Easy - Finn and Jake agree to help the Mudskipper people who are being attacked by the Megafrog. After some hijinx in their pursuit, Jake and Finn fight the Megafrog. Finn then deduces what is needed to defeat the Megafrog, and kisses it. Turns out the Megafrog is actually trying to kiss everyone because he is a handsome prince and needs to break the curse. Finn points out that someone needed to kiss HIM, and the Prince thanks him.

Out of these three, easily my favorite is with the Flame Princess, of course. Doesn't hurt that an epic voice actor does the voice of Flame King, and the fact they are evil is just kinda hilarious to me. Hard Easy was not bad, but not my favorite. Seeing Finn and Jake fight is weird because obviously Jake would crush him if he really wanted to.

This might be the format I do my topic from this point in terms of what I watch. I'll give a brief synopsis and then at the end say which one I liked the best.

King Worm was freaky. Its weird to think if Jake and Finn got into a serious fight. Jake has a bunch of non lethal ways to end the fight whereas if Finn really wanted to win he'd have to use weapons and would only have lethal ways of ending the fight. Jake can subdue Finn or kill him whereas Finn can only kill Jake to win. I still think Jake wins like 7 times out of 10 though.

4.24 : Reign of Gunters - Ice King can't find his evil wishing eye pendent, and so he goes out of the castle to the Wizard City Market to buy a new one. Gunter hid it and has a hissy fit as Ice King leaves him in the castle alone. This leads Gunter to wear the Evil Wishing Eye as well as... a Cat? (I don't remember if I should remember who the cat is) and makes an army of Gunters basically to take over the world. Ice King has some trouble with some other wizards who want to mess up his skeeze.

4.25 : I Remember You - Starts off with Ice King pretending to be Marceline, as he loves her music. He decides to make his own music to get the ladies, and goes to his "The Past" room. Marceline seems less than enthused, really not happy Ice King is around. Jake and Finn move in to remove him, but Marceline has a change of heart and wants to help. He breaks down in the middle of his song begging for anyone to love him.

Marceline has a history with Ice King. She knew him as Simon. She misses him. She says that he always finds her whenever she moves. He had a picture of young Marceline. They lived together and knew each other right after the Mushroom War. He found her alone.

God damnit. Please find yourself again Simon.

4.26 : The Lich - Finn has dreams with the Cosmic Owl and the Lich. They are messed up, so they are going to speak with Billy about it. Billy tells them they need to get the Gems of Power to fight the Lich. They gather them all and Billy randomly has the Enchiridion. At this point I suspect he IS the Lich King. Turns out the Enchiridion can open a gateway between dimensions if it has the gems.

They steal the last gem from PBG and of course Billy is Lich. The Lich asks him for the book but instead Finn destroys it, which is what he wanted. The Lich walks through it dragging Finn and Jake with him. It cuts to a different animation style with Finn having a mechanical arm, Jake not able to talk, and looking maybe like a pre-war Earth?

.... dang.

Yeah. The last couple episodes of Season 4 are fucking incredible honestly.

I Remember You is 10/10.

5.01 : Finn the Human - Finn and Jake are dragged into the portal. On the other side they follow Lich into the Cube where Lich talks with the being in the Cube. Lich laughs and disappears. Finn and Jake ask what the beans and it turns out Lich wished for a total extinction in our reality... which the being did. Finn and Jake are confused since they are fine. The being says they are safe until they make their wish. Jake immediately starts to counter the wish of Lich, but Finn says they could do better. They wish for the Lich to never have existed.

Cut to a whole new dimension where Finn has one arm, and Jake doesn't talk. They are told by Finn's mom to sell their mule for some money. On the way they stumble into a cave and see the remains of Simon with a frozen nuke on top of him. Turns out in this reality he used his powers to stop the war from ever happening, but he got pinned under the nuke and perished. When he died the powers of the Crown went berserk and covered the world in ice for 400 years. This is told to us by some old lady, who turns out to be an old Marceline.

Some asshats in a gang steal the crown AND HIS MULE and are basically asshats. Finn is given a sword to put on his mechanical arm and goes after them. The gang, "Destiny" burns down the town and goes after Finn's house. To stop them, he puts on the Crown.

5.02 : Jake the Dog - We cut back to Jake who is sitting alone in the Prism, with Prismo. Since he did not make the wish, he still has his left. He watches as Finn struggles in his new reality. Finn has become the new Ice King and is immediately turning insane. Makes you see how mentally strong Simon was.

Jake hangs out with Prismo and now the Cosmic Owl. He watches as his alternate reality Jake becomes the Lich and Finn the Ice King fights him.

Prismo, since he likes Jake, tells him that his wishes all have an ironic twist. He tells Jake to change Lich's wish so he wishes for Finn and Jake to go back to Ooo. This happens, and all goes back to normal, with seemingly the Lich stuck in the Prism.
