Small class and pretty tight-knit. Just kinda tired of seeing stuff like this on Facebook from people (either constant posts or commonly comment in support of) I have high respect for. But all the posts get a ton of likes. I'm sure they understand it's not true...but idk because it's constant rants and neoliberalism attacks. Like I'd think they're russian fakes if I didn't know them.

I guess it's what happens when you spend time in groups where social status comes from these beliefs.

I know it sounds silly, but I didn't realize how much people's personalities form (and my own) over doing what's incentivized the most in their environment...and also driven by core motivations formed at very young age.

like you seem incapable of absorbing new information? clearly if you would think they were 'russian bots' but some circumstantial evidence disproves it, that would make you rethink your prior that a lot of popular people on social media are secret russians? and the 4.7% thing seems like an obvious refererence to the news stories about jeff bezos becoming a trillionaire within a few years (although it would be more accurate to say a 4.7% wealth tax)

Up until the early 1970s, most states public colleges was free for in-state residents.

Not really anymore considering all the added deductions that are available for people with considerable assets. I think the average combined tax rate for the top 1% was only around 23% last year compared to people in the middle class who are paying around 25% on average.

Yeah I definitely agree so many people on the left don't understand the nature of Jeff Bezos' wealth. Like its still absurdly high, but its almost all company assets. Not liquid at all, and definitely not just straight up cash he gets.

So many posts like the picture in your OP seem to equate his total assets with the amount of money he earns annual... which is just blatantly untrue.

That's not even getting into the fact that Bezos's net worth mostly consists of stock which you couldn't tax anyway until he derives income from selling it.
