The guns feel so good but everything else is so bad. It feels like a fucking mobile game with all the events and shit.

What's wrong with it? I'm basically waiting for the Season Pass DLC to finish so that they'll hopefully focus a bit on optimization and stabilize the balance patches that will happen for the DLC gear.

I had fun with it for 40 hours then dropped it and have no desire to revisit it for the DLC. The story in these games are usually mediocre but this time around it was just all around terrible.

Everything else is fine, it's a Borderlands game. They just toned down some of the over-the-top memeing.

Does feel like many other GAS titles because of the events, I'll give you that. But that's how they try to improve replayability.

Still has a solid campaign.

When I last played they were hell bent on nerfing the best builds into the dirt (in a pve game), while doing absolutely nothing to fix ones that literally did not work. The quests suck ass, the characters are annoying, the level design is bad, and it runs like poop. Its the first Borderlands I didnt immediately replay on ng+.

I liked it. I'm on my second playthrough with my brother.

Though a lot of the fun is that it gives us an excuse to hang out and talk as we play.

The super deluxe edition was on sale for $50 last week so I bought it and finally dove in. I'm on the 3rd planet and so far it's fun, but still definitely the same old Borderlands.

I kinda felt like the problem was that its not the same old borderlands. Its a shitty corridor with a weirdly huge emphasis on its very bad plot.

Mayhem 2.0 made a lot of the guns worthless. Loot drops, despite trying to be fixed TWICE, are still broken.

The devs havent bothered to fix anything broken especially couch co-op which was the main reason I bought it. Then they nerf everything. I stopped playing fairly early on.

This is why I stopped too. Really enjoyed playing through it, but how they handled the post-release just killed my interest in the game's longevity.

Yeah it's pretty terrible.

Story/Chars/Dialogue: Could not be worse, except like 3 or 4 side missions. Just turn the fucking dialogue off for a better experience.

Playability: fucking shit tier alpha release game that crashes at least twice in one session, fire the entire dev team plz. The only thing these idiots ever patch is fun bugs like going out of bounds or God forbid weapon duping.

Equipment/Classes: A few combinations are fun, but the constant patches that completely change the meta make it very unfun.

Events: can we please just not have them. Just send free shit sometimes or permanently unlock new maps associated with a holiday. This missable content is dumb.

DLC: The hammerlock dlc is actually pretty great all around, ngl. It's the best part of the entire game quite easily with the best weapons, customizations, everything. Handsome Jackpot is the same tier as the main game though honestly.

My friends talked me into getting it, but even they can't handle too much of it. Borderlands 2 remains peak borderlands, they just need to go back to that.

It lags lags every time either player opens a menu. Plus all text size is unreadable. It became so difficult to change guns that I just stopped.

The morons programming this train wreck tried to blame a new engine for it, even though it uses the exact same Unreal Engine as TPS. They just manages to make it worse, I assume because they don't know how to code to modern standards. The DX12 mode will instantly kill your computer and was a big bragging point until it was clearly the worst thing in the game, at which point they permanently labeled it "beta". I assume this is actually the "new engine" they wanted to brag on. If I were on this coding team I wouldn't be listing it on my resume it's hot garbage.

The game was a mess when it first came out. I just started replaying it and it seems to run better now.

The thing I dislike most is how the maps are all huge and empty, and all winding disconnected hallways so you're constantly having to bring up the slow menu to look at the map to get around. It forces you to use the vehicles to get around so you're not even using the "bazillions of guns" until you get to the one room at the end of the hall.

I don't feel like doing modding or any of that bullshit but gearbox is making it the preferable option, which really just makes me not want to bother playing because it's too much work.

Rpg looter shooters never work well. But because of that hive mind on that borderlands 2 is great, you couldn't say anything bad about it, you'd just get shut the up.
