I feel like most businesses will permanently switch. You save a shit ton of money if you don't need to rent a building, don't need to pay electricity for equipment, don't need to pay lunch for employees if they're the kind of company that does that

I'm really hoping we start expanding teleworking because I like being able to sleep in an extra couple hours every day and not having to deal with traffic.

His company is a third party auditor for smaller regional transit companies. Or, mostly transit companies, they deal directly with some bigger clients that have their own shipping divisions, though those are rare because they're usually big enough to not need them, either.

He does IT there, though

My division will be going to a recommended 2 day in the office schedule for most employees once we return. Low performers will still be required to be in 5 days a week.

I mean you get work done and dont have to pay for things like office space, supplies, Internet, electricity. Sure, some of that will be added to employee salaries (or should be. At the very least reimbursement) but Id imagine if coordinated right they could save far more.

God i hope this doesnt happen to my company

Im in a somewhat high CoL area, i dont want to move and i dont want to compete with someone in bumfuck nowhere doing my job for 2/3 the pay

I also dont want my property value to plummet because no one cares about living near nyc any more. Thats a little less likely though i think

Tbf, he told me that the way auditing works makes it pretty easy to monitor productivity so that's a huge part of it

My dad is going to be working a lot more from home permanently. He's been trying to do that for awhile anyway, this proved that it functions. He can go in one or two days a week
