I hate it. Not because the game is bad, but because I'm constantly cursing myself for any misuse of resources, no matter how slight. I miss two times with a handgun and I want to reset. Feeling like I'm not using resources properly is immensely more terrifying than the zombies.

Missing several times isn't a big deal due to the game's adaptive difficulty. From what I understand, if you keep missing and generally screwing up, your chances of a critical headshot rise, and you do more damage in general while taking less. On the flipside, if you're doing really well and nailing every shot it'll get a tad harder because you're doing less damage and taking more.

On Normal you can kill pretty much every enemy(except the ones at the street at the start of the game)and still have ammo left if you have good aim.

I think this is the case on hardcore as well as some guy on Youtube did it.

That's interesting, I didn't know this game had it.

This feels wrong to me, but alright!

The game is not hard. It's not Code Veronica the game where you can actually fuck your entire save if you're not careful
Never played CV, but I did play part of RE1R, and I sucked at it pretty badly.

Are you guys being serious about CV? The amount of guns and ammo they give you is ridiculous. Plus you can escape damage from zombies just by mashing hard enough. Add to that the knife is really good.

CV is the only game I actually couldn't beat the game because I ran out of stuff.

I also the agree the game isn't hard if you know how to use the right weapons on the right enemies (like most REs). I do hear that game's knife is broken too, but I'm not really a knife user.

The hardest overall is Gaiden

I haven't played CV in years, but I don't remember it being easy. In fact, the airplane fight is probably the toughest I've dealt with in an RE game, precisely because I was low on ammo by that point.

And I feel ya, anagram. Resource management is important in any game that tries to capture the spirit of old RE, but you can still make several mistakes in this one. I second aiming for the legs, as grounded zombies are way easier to avoid or finish off.

It's all permanent. I fucking love the zombies in RE2Make - the appearance of each one is "explained" in some way. If you see a new zombie that wasn't in that area before, it either broke through a window or walked in from another room. None of them simply appear out of thin air in the later game.

This helps you further plan strategies/routes when you're got the level layouts down, which is paramount for S+.

And I have to agree it is the harder of the main RE games. If you count it as a main game at least.

Beating CV for the Rocket Launcher is tough though: No ink ribbons, No first aid sprays, No continues, beat the game under 4:30 hours, I believe you even must finish the lighter side quest involving Roderigo with both Claire and Chris. The only thing you get, is the save in the middle when switching from disc 1 to disc 2 [or, in the case of later versions, the game's mid point, since those versions are not two discs], because the 00 save doesn't count against you.

You're right. From memory it's the only mainline RE that doesn't. (Excluding the original - and even then you could say that Jill is normal and Chris is hard?)

Looking back I think the original RE3 difficulty choice was extreme. It was either insanely Easy (where you start the game as a walking arsenal) or insanely Hard (good luck with the first 2 Nemesis fights). Although after you started building you ammo supply up it wasnt too bad.

It's an awkward middle ground between old and new RE and has a very overwritten plot for a game with very few lasting implications on the series.

Fun to play though.
