the millennium, which we are named after, was 20 years ago. we lived through it, so we had to be at least a kid when it happened. so we're in our thirties.

if we were born after the millennium, we wouldn't remember it. as they would be children in the 2010s.

9/11 happened before I woke up on the West Coast and I went to school with no clue that it had happened. Imagine my surprise when we are all being held in for recess even though it was a beautiful day being, and then being sent home

As a Gen X I would say the OKC Murrah building bombing in 1995 was more of of Gen X's wtf moment. I was a junior in high school when it happened and we watched the news in class that day.

Whereas with 9/11 i was like 24 walking into a vendor's office at my job and the news was playing on the TV and I was like "wtf is going on".

The internet likes to label everything. Baby boomers have changed time lines, gen x, and millennials....and the times keep changing for those all the time. Baby boomers are anybody born after the big war years 1945-1955. I grew up in the 90s, I'm not no millennial.

The main demographic of Pokemon Go isn't kids though. The majority of the player base is people that played the games as children, playing Go as adults.

If youre born in the late end of a generation, you share characteristics with both. I was born in 1995 which doesnt mean that I suddenly didnt have the internet available in my pocket for most of my youth just because Im at the tail end of being a millennial. But I also culturally cant identify with Gen Z because I do recall shit like dial up, 9/11, etc etc etc.

When I was in the military I always found it odd that people who were 4 years older than me were shit talking kids that were a couple of years younger than me for being millennials and not knowing basic shit like what the save button in Microsoft word is. It was both mind blowing that the people saying that didnt realize that they were millennials and they were shit talking Gen Z, and equally mind blowing that someone only a few years younger than me had no idea what a floppy disc is.

Growing up when I did was weird considering the sheer speed of development.
