I've never seen anyone hate on TLOU. I tried the game myself and wasn't really into it but i've never seen anyone say they hate it. Maybe it's just the vocal minority defending it to high heaven though.

For someone who doesn't care for the Uncharted formula at all, TLoU being another fucking zombie game at the time it came out basically ensured I never bother with it

definitely a minority. TLOU is great. And 5 years ago id have probably had it Over dark souls. But not now.

these sort of AAA mainstream action games are super popular for first few years but fanbase sort of dwindle. Uncharted 2 is another really good example

Based on the games contests GFaqs seems to have little nostalgia for PS2 era platformers.

Ratchet Up Your Arsenal always gets fodderized and Sly and Jak don't even get enough noms to show up.

Crash is a success story in that he managed to get the relevance back. Nsane trilogy is over 10 million copies sold.

I've played Crash for about 30 minutes in my lifetime and all 30 of those minutes were in Uncharted 4.

Jak hasn't been relevant at all, like... for 15 years now. I'd say Ratchet is way above Jak, but not above Crash.

And I don't buy the idea of people "getting sick" of Naughty Dog's franchises. Crash was bought by many companies when ND gave their rights for the character, leading to its abysmal decay until the remakes came along and revived it. Jak wasn't as big of a hit and as popular of a mascot as Crash; and Uncharted is well-respected but for some reason doesn't seem to do anything groundbreaking to make the series go further as an established franchise.

The Last of Us is the only game I've seen that's stuck with people as GOAT material.

It ain't star of the contest by any means, but Yakuza 0 needs some props. it started off with some of us thinking Yakuza/Witness could have been the weakest pair of gmes in a match, then Yakuza said to hell with this toilet paper shortage and wiped its ass with the Witness. Most of us then wondered if the Witness would be the weakest game in the contest since Yakuza must still be weak, but now we see it getting ~44% on MGSV instead of getting destroyed too.

I expect MGSV to do worse against Dark Souls then it did last time, but it's gonna need a truly terrible performance to take back this credit Yakuza's earned so far. Good job beating expectations.

I told you all Yakuza 0 wasn't weak. That game is basically the OOT or FF7 of Yakuza. It really is something special and the way they handled the ending was nothing short of award winning.

The quarantine helps though. My workplace has shut down for over a month. Still these games are amazing because they keep continuing the story of all these characters.

They can be long if you go for 100%. But the main reason is the main city is in all the games and i guess it'd get a bit tedious going through 7 games back to back.

If you just go through the main story, theyre only 20-25 hours. But finishing all the addictive side quests and mini games can take you another 40 hours. And playing them back to back can leave you feeling burnt out because of how similar the games start to feel after a while

Yeah I never did 100% on any of them. I usually finish them 85% to 90%. But seeing Kamurocho how changes in every game is amazing. Plus punching Japanese Dudes in the face is always good.

Yeah as I said in my analysis the Yakuza franchise is my favorite new franchise from the previous and this one console generation. I guess though I am lucky since I got to experience the story so fast and all these are still fresh in my mind. Now I am waiting for Y7 even though I believe I will not like it, not because they changed the protagonist but because of the battle system.

The gameplay has become so dumbed down, tedious and repetitive over the years. Every job I loved playing back in ARR/HW play like simplified garbage now.

Every patch is like a copy/paste too. Its painfully predictable.

Bayonetta wins that easily
