The whole concept of a sports network seems like something that evolved out of the concept of the concept of broadcast television, where they didn't want to have dead screen time if nobody was playing currently for a given league. But in the days of Internet, that doesn't really matter/apply.

Everyone just needs to have their own streaming service, and then someone can bundle all of the streaming services together into a single service. And this service can have a basic bundle and other smaller specialized bundles that can be added to it.

That sounds awful. Because you know each one would want you to pay a separate fee. Getting all streaming under a single app with a single low fee is the most ideal realistic solution in this day and age. More platforms with segmented pay structures is garbage.

Unless I 100% missed the actual point here, in which case ignore me.

ESPN hype is real and makes them a lot of money.

Look at LeBron James. He owes a lot of his career due to ESPN and how much they suck him off.

Well yeah, one streaming app with literally everything on it would be ideal but I don't think it's particularly realistic.

At present if you want to watch all the games for one league, you need like four or more apps.

I would get worried if each team starts offering a streaming service which would suck if you love more than one team in the league.

NFL game pass lets you tune into live games if you're in the broadcast area for the game, the radio broadcast if you're not, and stream any whole game (or even condensed versions of them) after its aired.

All for like $100/season?

I can't help but wonder if they'd be better or worse off if they charged like $5-10/game so you could tune in specifically for games you want to watch without seeing the games you don't

obviously $5-10 to stream a NBA game or MLB game would be way too expensive.

However part of the reason why they don't give options like that (at least consistently or for non-playoffs) is because they want you to go to the game if you can. If I can pay $5 to watch a game live, without paying for cable, then why would I go to a stadium? It's a weird balancing act.

The point is that a large bundle of "streaming services" for a lower price than all of them separately already exists. It's called cable.

No, not at all. For one, the price is most certainly not low. Two, some leagues have deals with specific providers. Three, each of their packages are charged separately; NFL Game Pass, NBA League Pass, NHL Center Ice, MLB Extra Innings, etc.
