Played deep into chapter 4. Scorpion gave me a few issues, but mostly because I was still learning the battle system (didn't guard at all, oops). Never was in danger of dying though.

I was suuuuuper not prepared for early motorcycle chase, that shit was crazy! Roche is crazy and hilarious at the same time.

Also good lord is Jessie suuuuuuper thirsty for Cloud. Literally doesn't even hide it when they get back to the slums lol.

Very much enjoying it so far. I think I did all the sidequests in chapter 3.

Is anyone playing this on a regular PS4? How does it hold up graphically?

I really want to play it, but I have absolutely no time right and even if I bought it I probably wouldn't play much for a few months. I wonder if I should just wait for a PC release which I assume would play better anyway.

It's fine on regular PS4. No frame drops. But hella texture pop in. What you would expect for an Unreal game.

Tifa>Cloud>Barret>Aeris for gameplay.

Chapter 8. I just did the battle against Shiva. That's the best fight so far. Some Data Org potential right there.

Does Jessie survive? Heard some conflicting things, but the game is doing a great job at making players invested with her, even knowing what happens in the original. I assume the same thing happens, but I'm hearing she somehow may make it out?

I heard that later on, her gloves and headband were seen. I just wasn't sure if it meant she was alive, or it was just a memento of hers that they recovered.

There are enemies that Aerith completely dismantles. I like her. The dualcast is awesome. And I find it fun moving around and getting your spacing correctly

But I just unlocked Concentration for Tifa. And with First Strike, you get insane combos right off the bat. Super fun.

Ugh I ordered the physical copy on Amazon in June. Like a week ago they updated my delivery date to the 14th, then again the other day to "arriving Tuesday by 8 PM." Now I just got a notification that the package has shipped and will be here on Wednesday.

At least it's coming eventually I guess.

Thank you FFVIIR for unflanderizing Aerith. She is back to actually having playfulness rather than just being pure pureness.

Somewhere in the middle of chapter 8.

Aeris is definitely unique to fight with. Tifa is easily my favourite so far. Used the elemental materia to pair with lightning, and put it on her fist. Unbridled strength into omnistrike is fast and murderous.

Me too, but Tifa's fists of lightning fury were death to Airbuster.

Speaking of, holy shit that fight. First off, when the legit boss theme kicked in, I just entered the action screen just so I could listen to it a bit. Fucking loved it. And that was a fight done right. Challenging in the right areas (playing on normal), requiring some strategy, and tanky without feeling super overly so. Had a lot of fun fighting it!

Got to Aerith's house. She's hella annoying in a little sister kind of way. Entertaining but def not waifu material like Tifa. She was a lot better in Crisis Core. I don't know how much she knows about Cloud in that sense though, so that might be why she's so cheesy.

Also holy shit she is the god damn 1%er of midgar with that mansions in the slums. TWO PEOPLE LIVE THERE. Save us from this tyranny Sephiroth.

Aerith's character is what it should be. Playful and confident. The OG aerith was just a pure being that got annoying.

This one ribs cloud, pokes fun at him, has sarcastic wit.

Crisis Core Aerith might technically be a better waifu but she was solely designed to be a waifu. She's not all that interesting.

People who think OG Aerith was "pure" are doing the same thing as people who think OG Cloud was emo - getting confused by the compilation. Aerith in FF7 is a flirt with a dark sense of humor who literally threatened to rip a man's balls off.
