this stuff was rampant for decades especially against minorities but its something the public likes to ignore unless its caught on video.

theirs a reason why communities have issues with police when they do stuff like this and are protected behind the law
Exactly. And the police in this entire country wonders why they have such a bad reputation everywhere & why most people (especially minorities like me) don't trust them anymore.

If you really want to play devils advocate. Theres a couple articles that detail the investigation and you never actually see him plant it. Just a body camera goes for 4 minutes. So thats probably why hes not fired. Thats on part for most cases
I just watched the video and it fell out of his hand clear as day, there is absolutely nowhere else it could have come from. And this came right after an incident where he turned the camera OFF, then back on just in time to find a "marijuana cigarette" right where nothing was prior.
Internal Affairs just has a miraculous ability not to notice such things. "Well technically we only see it fall out of his hand, so we can't prove he put it in there. I'm sure clumsily re-staging it was just an effort to be even more transparent in the process!"

I dont think any of them are confused as to why they have a bad reputation. Thats why its so pathetic when people try the they didnt make the laws, they just enforce them! excuse. Cops know what they signed up for and they know exactly why so many people distrust them.

Of course some of them are confused and disillusioned. They put it all on the line to protect people and you get rocket scientists like itt who say theyre worse than criminals who rob, beat, rape civilians, and sell drugs to destroy those peoples communities so they can get easy money without working 9-5.

I brought up them not making the laws and its not an excuse, its a fact. I said be mad at politicians too, not only bad cops. If it werent for the war on drugs this shit couldnt happen. Duh

Cops know they will get hate and they do the job anyway. People that hold others accountable for their actions always get hated on. Id like to hear what percentage of cops you think are 'bad', as in dirty, but i doubt you will respond with anything meaningful. Thats why I ignored you earlier.

I never said they were just following orders. Also I said in my first post they deserve to lose their jobs and laid out how I would hold them accountable in another post. You are such a waste, its ridiculous.

So I have been tracking these stories of bad cops for awhile now and have noticed a trend...

They all seem to be clustered in a few cities... New York, LA, Chicago, and Detroit have about 85% of all these bad cop stories that make the news.

That tells me there is a systematic issue in these cities that leads to police corruption. Either someone in the government is looking the other way or actively encouraging this shit.

I know all the cops in my hometown, they are awesome people who do a lot of community outreach. They do a lot of good in my community. I have seen them literally buying childcare supplies with their own money for young single mothers who can't even afford a carseat for their infants. They don't go after drug users, they target the dealers. They are great cops. But they have no control over, or even special knowledge of, what happens in other departments. They know the same things we do about the NYPD, LAPD, and others. To paint these cops in my hometown with the same brush is about as bad an argument as saying that all cats are white because you have a white cat.
Interesting point, though small town cops in former rust belt areas are pretty shit as well. Maybe you live in a tight knit community with high trust? The type of place where they cant pull this sort of thing and skate easily. Perhaps the anonymity of city policing lend itself to these sorts of tales.

Couple million cops with over 150 million police interactions a year throughout the US. But CE has got their gotcha story that happens once a month to further reinforce their hatred

Accountability is the problem, lack of proper training and screening is the problem, the fact that this behavior has led to police needing to wear body cameras in a profession is why this is a problem.

Paid vacation leave is the prize here, getting a conviction requires a substantial amount of evidence. Justice for those wrongly sentenced and jailed is almost non existent and to add why these crime statistics aren't accurate.

Small cops without body cams definitely get away with plenty. Its amazing how often my black buddy got pulled over for nothing as soon as he moved to an affluent town. Even more amazing how the cops always smelled marijuana during every stop despite him never smoking. Nothing ever happened to any of those cops, guess that doesnt count.

Small city cops never got kicked off the force for arresting me when my face was bloody and bruised when my abusive ex called her cop uncle to have em sicced on me. But I guess that doesnt count either.

Yea it counts and its fucked up. Harassing a guy for no reason is abuse of power and he could have got cops name and reported him, then called the paper and blasted him on social if it kept happening. Your ex proly lied and said you abused her and she defended herself. You should have gotten away from the crazy bitch, it had proly been happening for awhile but you loved her or some shit. Cant fire people for those.

Anyways, following orders implies someone higher up told cops to frame the guy. Which isnt the case, theyre rogue pos, i never said they were good cops following bad orders. Enforcing laws is different because thats the framework cops can operate in. Theres no law that lets cops frame people legally. If politicians didnt make weed illegal, bad cops couldnt nail people for it. Thats my point, its straightforward.

Mixed in with some nice victim blaming and a naive expectation of police accountability

Have fun bro

I just fuckin said they werent following orders. Also cops have the right to forcibly detain people, especially if they resist. What else should they do after their requests get ignored, its force at that point.

Anyone legitimately confused as to why cops are so hated need only look at this video and then read the statement from the PD. He had a "reasonable explanation" for why he took two baggies of whitr powder out of his pocket, placed them on the ground, and then picked them back up while acting like he found them on the scene. And a "reasonable explanation" for why he chased down and attempted to confiscate a witnesses phone. The crime the person on the ground was charged with? Drug possession, no other charges. So he framed an innocent man, and attempted to destroy evidence, but he had, like, a super-compelling reason as to why, they swear!

Shit like that is why people say all cops are bad. Because even in the face of video evidence, they will justify it. And not a single man or woman on that force stood up and said, "No, this is bullshit, nothing excuses this" despite the fact that nothing does.

Anyone else more than a little curious what that "reasonable explanation" is?

Are you literally incapable of following along?

Cops - not this one in particular, but all of them - enforce unjust laws using violence against people who havent harmed anyone. You excuse that by saying they dont make the laws, they just enforce them. Which means theyre not giving the orders to enforce these unjust laws, theyre following those orders.

Do you understand yet?

And yeah, not victim blaming by saying I shouldve gotten away before I was abused as if I was supposed to magically know what was coming

Take the boot out of your mouth before you talk next time

Its actually comical trying to follow your logic as you keep twisting your words around so much to still appear right after I shut you down everytime. I didnt excuse bad behavior, i said blame politicians TOO. How many ways do you need to hear it? Cops are allowed to use force in basically every country in the world, if you dont like that, go live on an abandoned island somewhere.

That the laws are unjust is your damn Opinion, not a fact. Do you understand yet? Stay salty you got your ass whooped by a girl, then blame every cop in the US cuz you cant handle reality. Thats your problem, bitterbeard. @shockthemonkey

Fixing these problems and the incompetence and corruption in Police Departments all across the Nation would go a great way in helping reunite this country and all of our people. And Re-instilling Confidence in Justice system in America.

It can be done. Let's all unite! And get to it. Hold our people, officers and our elected leaders accountable on all levels. An establishment can only rule of they have Goodwill and Trust from the public. Otherwise it disolves into chaos. This can be repaired as long as we all apply pressure

The cop knew he would get in trouble that he split that guys stomach open after he told him and showed him the wound.

If the guy was arrested for something he would have a better argument for why he did what he did.

I would bet that the other case mentioned in the article went down the same way.
