So I have been tracking these stories of bad cops for awhile now and have noticed a trend...

They all seem to be clustered in a few cities... New York, LA, Chicago, and Detroit have about 85% of all these bad cop stories that make the news.

That tells me there is a systematic issue in these cities that leads to police corruption. Either someone in the government is looking the other way or actively encouraging this shit.

I know all the cops in my hometown, they are awesome people who do a lot of community outreach. They do a lot of good in my community. I have seen them literally buying childcare supplies with their own money for young single mothers who can't even afford a carseat for their infants. They don't go after drug users, they target the dealers. They are great cops. But they have no control over, or even special knowledge of, what happens in other departments. They know the same things we do about the NYPD, LAPD, and others. To paint these cops in my hometown with the same brush is about as bad an argument as saying that all cats are white because you have a white cat.
Interesting point, though small town cops in former rust belt areas are pretty shit as well. Maybe you live in a tight knit community with high trust? The type of place where they cant pull this sort of thing and skate easily. Perhaps the anonymity of city policing lend itself to these sorts of tales.
