I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that one random disease is wiping out a percentage of the world population, in this day and age. Many people have died already, and it's going to get a lot worse before it ever gets better.

I or anyone I know could fall into the worst case scenario when we catch it. I'm very worried for my mom; she has diabetes and has already been coughing a lot from an undiagnosed problem before thus started. I'm terrified of what will happen if she catches Covid-19.

I am a mega introvert and my work hours are always long and all over the place so I'm personally okay with staying home for a bit. More time to cook bigger meals, play video games, go jogging outside, and more. But confirmed New York cases are climbing pretty drastically so everyone I know is freaking out like crazy unfortunately.

It might make me cold, but I don't really get upset when people close to me die? If it happens it happens. I haven't talked to anyone all day so I'm a nervous wreck, not that it bothers me. Nothing really bothers me. Nothing really bothers you that much when you've come back from psychosis. Though on days where I'm all alone, I feel myself getting lost in my thoughts the same way.

I've been working on my UI editor project. Today I did Widget behaviors plugins and drawing curved rectangles. That circle was fun, I used the Pythagorean Theorem. Should look even better with some anti-aliasing.

I made my first commit to a Git project I didn't make today, MonoGame.Extended as well. There are a couple of things I want to add/fix in that library.

Nobody I know has it and it hasn't effected my life all that much so honestly? I feel fine. It may seem selfish but I have chronic anxiety as it is without adding more fuel to the fire. "What if?" is the bane of my existence and pointless to think about when "what if?" may never have a answer. Hopefully nobody I know will be effected but I'm not going to read up about it 24/7.

At this point, I'm angry at people who still go out and about and act like this still isn't serious and are very likely spreading this horrible thing to me, my family, and my friends. I'm finding it hard to care about any strangers I encounter day to day at my jobs, since they selfish don't care about me by being out in this.

Though I am happy for myself as I will be leaving my 2 dead end retail jobs in less than 2 weeks and have already accepted an offer for a dream job I'm very excited to start. Had this virus not happened, this dream job would have been much more difficult to get and likely would not have happened.

No change. The biggest killer is still traffic accidents, 38,000 deaths last year, the Wuhan virus death count is still tiny compared to "ordinary" seasonal flu, 728 compared with CDC's estimated 12-18,000.

Being ordinarily careful, and waiting for the hype and ballyhoo to all fade away.

I find it hard to go from retail to dream job so Im wondering what this dream job is.

My new job will be a Sales rep for a large telecommunications company. Pays a good hourly base + commission. Full time 40 hour position working a consistent schedule, Solid benefits (Company provided Health Insurance, 2 weeks of PTO every year, Free Internet, cable, and cellphone), Strong future. I get every Sunday off.
versus...
2 dead end retail jobs that pay barely above minimum wage with inconsistent schedules. Constantly working 7 days a weeks with rarely a day off. No benefits outside of a measly employee discount. No health insurance. Stores are likely to close within the next year or so eliminating these jobs.

This is going to change my life. My income is going to jump from 12K to at least 30K.

I have periods here and there where my worries run a bit higher, but in the grand scheme of things I think I am handling pretty well.

Only thing that particularly worries me is if I get it and get critical or especially die. I have two kids I'd rather not leave behind and not get a chance to say goodbye to if it came to it. I'm 35 in solid health and no pre-existing conditions though so I am probably alright.

Cases in my own town, less then a mile from me. Old people, who are very likely to die from it. I'm bunkered down and trying to not let myself think about it. Trying to not worry about my friends and family who are sick but can't afford testing to find out if they are going to die. Just trying to not think.

I'm dealing with it okay. I mean things didn't get any better for me when this happened but not too much worse either yet

I do get to work from home for a while which I like anyway, and I usually don't go to too many places, so the isolation aspect isn't too bad other than the fact that I won't be hanging out with my friends here and there until this is over.

Mostly just disappointed in people's reactions to it and not taking it seriously, acting like the closings are not necessary etc. I guess people show their true colors in times like this. Some of it is out of ignorance but yeah...

I'm doing fine for the most part. Shelter in place started last Tuesday. It's been like an extended weekend. I've only had to WFH for an hour, but otherwise, my boss said not to. Been pretty well-occupied. I have some very extroverted friends who aren't dealing with it as well.

Gonna go to the grocery store later today. It'll be the first time since this whole thing started. Hope it's not as bad as I've been reading.

Reasonably well. Money's potentially going to be an issue, since I've been temporarily laid off, but the bakery I work at has seen tremendous success with the limited deliveries they've been offering since closing two weeks ago, plus we'd just had a couple of very busy weeks (one of which was the second-busiest they'd ever had, after the week before this past Christmas), so they'll likely survive the closure and I'll still have a job to go back to. My landlord also offered to defer our rent for this month until the end of our lease, which is a nice bit of relief, so I think we'll be alright.

As far as the disease itself goes, my mom's in her 60's and is a doctor, which is a bit concerning, but my home province has been doing a pretty good job of flattening the curve and is sitting at just 147 cases (out of ~1 million people), so she should be alright even if she does get it. Everyone else in my family is in good enough health that it shouldn't be an issue, though here in Ontario the case numbers are growing pretty rapidly and I may have trouble getting care if I end up needing it. Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

Honestly, I have a ton of anxiety (which may or may not have triggered an episode of acid reflux) and it's getting the better of me to the point where I'm afraid to touch anything or be around my family.

Since being laid off, I've gotten an offer for a job making more money, but I'm afraid to take it because I don't know the environment or the people.

Before things started to spiral, I was cautiously optimistic considering the situation, but seeing the deaths climb day after day just starts the cycle all over again.
