Reading some stuff on this I really dont understand how this happened. Making sure that the bill actually helps workers is very important, and there are good arguments to use leverage to force related stuff like ensuring that people can vote by mail in November. But tacking on a ton of unrelated Dem budget asks is just bizarre and a completely self inflicted wound (and not characteristic of Pelosi).

Yeah, like there's plenty of stuff i can agree with in there but how couldn't that be the case, it's fucking huge.

But you're taking an emergency spending package and giving... That. Yet want to be viewed as the good guys.

They came up with the idea, pitched it, had multiple ideas, but somehow got beat to the punch on a bill. Alright, they looked at it, fought/are fighting it for good reasons, then drop something 7x longer and almost completely irrelevant.

...they literally needed to write nothing to look like the good guys yet couldn't do that. I'm in awe.

House bill is over a trillion from the republicans senate one so no. But it's certainly convoluted and unclear. There's no way they drafted this from nothing, it's totally a budget with Coronavirus slapped on it.
