If you havent already, talk to Tom and hell ask you to show him critters like Blathers would and hell give you some stuff which is helpful.

also theres a lot of really quick nook miles achievements to do + some that are secret that you might wander into like GMUN getting bit by the spider.

Me too. Im guessing it may not be obtainable until day two... ive exhausted all my options with Nook at this point.

I really need the pole vault thing because Im completely cut off from like 2/3 of my island right now, but I havent seen a way to get that either.

also also, the tool crafting is kind of silly. I unlocked that second tier of tools too and made a nicer fishing rod, but I think the only difference is just how long it takes to break...
and theres a nook miles achievement for breaking a ton of tools and theres achievements for crafting stuff, and its super low effort to craft new flimsy tools, so I feel like im disincentivized from making the nicer stuff.

It's hard to really have "tips" for a game like this. The only thing I'd really recommend is to catch and donate every bug and fish you can at the moment. If you're not a time-traveler, then there are certain ones that won't appear again for a long time after March ends.

It's not that bad if you don't psyche yourself out. The action in this game definitely seems way easier than it's been in the past. I've never been late reacting to fish bites.

It's not just fishing, a lot of stuff is easier. Wasps are literally the easiest bug in the game to catch now

My boyfriend was playing this morning while I was sleeping; I get up, want to build a pole vault as that's available now, but since he was playing first, all of the wood I could chop from the trees on the part of the island that's accessible without a pole vault is depleted. He figured out a way to transfer some of the wood he'd chopped over to me, but is this game really just set up in a way where you're more or less punished for playing on the same system? I like that we can share an island, but I don't like the resources being that scarce.

Also, logistical question: is there any way to separate stacks of stuff in your inventory without just having to do it one-by-one? Last night I kind of wanted to separate my stack of 99 weeds into two clumps so I could sell 50 or so and still have some left over for DIY-ing, but I ended up just selling them all because I didn't want to bother separating them all out one-by-one. Is there a button I'm missing?

Enjoying the game overall, but these are just a couple of minor complaints I have so far. (Well, okay, the first one is a bit more major, but we found a workaround for now. There were a whole bunch of NON-depleted trees on the other parts of the island, but they're inaccessible without a fuckin' pole vault so I don't know what the game wanted from me here >_>)

If you have enough Nook Miles you can buy an island ticket. Each island you visit is instanced and disappears after you leave so you can mess it up and get supplies all you want.

That's useful. I definitely thought that item was for doing things on the internet, which I don't have on the Switch because I don't want to add a monthly fee to the many I already have to pay just so I can have internet on a console. Thanks!
