Would you work for a company that uses these types of heavy machinery?

39 y/o Carlos Lynn from Alabama was horrifically DECAPITATED while cleaning equipment at a chicken processing plant!!

He worked for Packers Sanitation Services Inc, a food safety company which was contracted to clean machinery inside a plant owned by Tyson Foods

It happened at 5:30pm when Lynn and another worker were cleaning a piece of equipment known as the "chiller" which is used to cool chickens when he got caught in a "PINCH POINT"

A pinch point is an area where ea person or part of a person's body can get caught between machinery that's either stationary or moving

Industrial Chillers in processing plants are very different than conventional household refigerators and use conveyers and heavy machinery to quickly cool the meat

Tyson Foods says they are devastated over the death and give their thoughts and prayers to the family as they will continue to investigate.

Would you ever work for a company that uses these types of machines?

...when you lean in to clean it. Hence the whole Sanitation Services he worked for.

the actual question should be why wasnt the equipment locked out.

Would a hose not work? And of course it's moronic to work on live machinery.

Well, usually it should be turned off first and unplugged if possible. Not sure why it wasnt.

Wow. Brutal. Can only assume that if that's how he died, he probably didn't have a good head on his shoulders before the incident either.

Well this sort of thing happened a lot in the steel mills operated by Andrew Carnegie in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and keep in mind at that time there were no regulations or laws so someone would die, they would cart them off and it was business as usual

Sadly, we're heading in that direction today.

That's rather condescending. A worker was killed at a GE plant because the current owner Haier did not repair a machine that OSHA had ordered them to repair weeks before someone died.

These companies now operate and they don't care if someone dies or loses a limb etc because the laws have now been watered down.

Tyson has a horrible track record in regards to workplace safety and most of those people who have gotten hurt aren't White so that may explain something.

Fed Ex has had several fatalities at their facilities over the past two years or so because of faulty equipment they fail to repair.
