Super Tuesday still ongoing, and not just in terms of results. There are people still in line, and probably will be for another hour and a half in some places with long lines (lines at UCLA are projected to last until 11).

If Tulsi actually gets to debate because she has a delegate I am going to lose my shit.

I assume they will change the rules by then to not allow that though.

I feel like with the age of the candidates involved, there's an off chance coronavirus takes out both candidates and no one wins

Or it infects both candidates, becomes sentient, and we are forced to vote it into office

There will not be a progressive stronger than Sanders in...decades, probably. Even if Biden somehow does win, progressive policy is going to die a low painful death, as Dem politicians continue to move further right.

I disagree. AOC is already a household name, and she's the youngest congresswoman to be elected currently. Plus she's not well past retirement age. Plus she's got a strong social media game, and republicans are obsessed with her. A bit more experience, and I think she's a stronger candidate than Bernie. And by then a lot of the old establishment will be gone.

Bernie got 40% of the LGBT vote, with Warren in 2nd.

So basically, the Democratic Party under Biden is just old black and white straight people.

I hope thats enough.

Actually, today Tulsi complained about people on a Fox segment saying Warren was the only woman left, and instead of just simply going "Uh no there's another," she made it about race by suggesting they ignored her because she's a woman of color in favor of Warren who is a "fake woman of color."

So I'd bet Tulsi's gonna full on play the race card in a debate. That seems to be her desperate grasp lately, implying that everybody is racist against her.

Anyway as someone who likes history let's be plain here, folks: we are in the first days of a struggle for this country. The last 20 years has seen an enormous shift for us culturally that I don't think we understand. A lot has expanded and there is some backlash of that but also more and more ideas are coming to the forefront. Ideas that can only be denied for so long. A much higher minimum wage is for sure coming. Much more comprehensive health care is coming. Something about college debt is coming. Outside of Sanders, what we need most is progressive bunnies in the senate and house to grow and grow.

Yeah I'm not sure we have the time to be playing the long game here.

What's AOC's pitch gonna be in the 2030s? "Okay guys you didn't listen to me when I said we should do the Green New Deal over a decade ago and we've already missed the initial deadline but there's still time left to not be totally screwed!"

We are also pretty far away from that. Let's not act as if the the GOP has done too much lasting harm. Not like we've had any insane amendments passed or anything. Like yeah it's really bad but I don't think you know what it takes to make an actual civil war. Trust me, none of the signs are there. Like you think it is a 10 and I am like "well it's a 7 and it sucks but it's not a 10."

I'm saying that you don't need a civil war or obvious lasting harm because the structure of our government inherently favors conservatism. Conservatives already are gaining control of the courts, possibly for decades if we get another Trump term, and their Senate advantage will only get more lopsided with time. Unless enough Republicans are defeated electorally before this is cemented, they'll just continue to get stronger over time.

Also maybe this can convince you to vote Biden if you feel strongly on this: his climate plan is perfectly adequate! It does an okay job and is looking to hit the right targets.
