Ironically I think they actually could pull off mania 2 today.

The big reason is fucking flopped was that they simply did not have 3 halfway competent production crews.

Even with the show being 90% recap which I skipped through, still somewhat enjoyable. Not as good as SD on Friday, but could have been a lot worse. Even with the predictable Austin/Saxton moment.

AEW Dark Spoilerz. Don't read if you follow it.

AEW Dark is seriously just a tremendously fun wrestling show. There's at least one awesome match weekly on this show and I look forward to following it now that I'm caught up on all things AEW!

I forgot how much fun Colt Cabana is in the ring. He's just so much fun. He had a nice, enjoyable match with Peter Avalon and won.

JACK EVANS WINS A MATCH (with Angelico)! Finally. They beat Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa and the match was mostly centered around Nakazawa's oil gimmick? I dunno. Nakazawa is weird. But TH2 is just so much fun to watch when they're rolling. Jack Evans is legit one of the best.

I feel like Riho is just being used to put people over now that she's no longer champ. She lost to Penelope Ford, who I actually really like. Riho is really, really good but doesn't do a whole lot for me aside from being great in the ring. This was probably the weakest match while still being a really good match.

The main event was Christopher Daniels vs. Stu Grayson and Stu Grayson is actually really awesome. I mean, Christopher Daniels has still never lost a step despite his age and he's still just outrageously good, but Stu Grayson is totally awesome too and it's a shame he's kind of in the role of "The Other Guy" in Dark Order. I mean, the guy screams "THIS IS FUN!" while he does a dive. He's pretty badass. Daniels wins after a great exchange and then I guess we're getting Daniels vs. Evil Uno tomorrow on Dynamite where the Exalted One will appear, which Daniels is convinced does not exist.

I am very excited for Dynamite tomorrow. It's weird being excited to see a wrestling show again.

I've only been watching AEW for the past two weeks straight to catch up, so it hasn't been weird for me! But Dynamite tomorrow won't have a crowd. They'll just be performing in the empty arena apparently. No idea what they'll do after that.

I heard Orlando might even shut down Wrestlemania at the PC because they don't want a large number of people in any location like that.

The referee made him break the pin because his leg was under the rope and he just stalked the referee and laughed in his face. Dude is cool and outstanding in the ring too. I highly recommend checking out his match with Daniels to see what he is capable of.

I should love it but can't really find time for it in my already bloated Wrestling schedule. I do watch the Takeovers (sometimes better than their US counterparts, you have to admit).

I think it may be time for me to dust off that AWA 2-disc set I got a couple summers ago, shit, I may even pick up those two World Class sets. Can't beat a bit of Von Erich/Freebirds!

In fact that would be the preferred way to do it IMO. Film it over the course of a few days to limit the amount of people in the building at once. You could even edit/reshoot whatever to ensure the best product. No real downside.

Bryan says that since WWE has sucked so much as making empty arena shows that they should just get Wrestlemania over with so they can move on after the crisis of over.

Meltzer says that WWE should postpone Wrestlemania so it means something and Drew McIntyre can get his big win in front of a giant crowd instead of in an empty arena where nobody will care, and that they should keep stretching things out until then. He also said in this argument he does not care if this argument is killing the audience because "I know I'm right."

I think I agree with Bryan. At least AEW is doing unique stuff with their empty arena shows. WWE has had a static camera and is just replaying matches. AEW is even setting up for non-empty arena matches like street fights and such. AEW is trying and I guess WWE has given up trying to make an empty arena work.

As the weeks go on, I think people will become more and more starved for escapism and entertainment. WWE and AEW really should try to capitalize where they can.

god i hate when dave is stubborn and wrong, it's unlistenable audio. the problem with this idea is it's entirely possible this could drag out for 6 months, and it's just unfeasible to drag stories out that long unless they stop all shows. i feel like this was the only option, short of cancelling all shows from now until we have normality - but then what sort of notice do you get to put on mania somewhere? none of it works.
