Gold Star Flareon for me. Just pulled Rainbow Marnie after 10 sword/shield boosters. So awesome!

Probably Charizard-ex from the FRLG set or Umbreon/Espeon Gold Stars from one of the POP sets. Not sure which of those three is most valuable at this point but I'd venture to say they are my top three.

Probably an old holo one of some kind? I dunno since its hard to tell what any reliably sell for. Ive got so many I have no idea what to do with because selling them seems like a major hassle.

Troll and Toad might take then in bulk. I'm thinking of looking into that.

For base cards, they don't sell that well unless they're graded, from what I see.

I'd want to sell, but i like having the cards too. The money is rarely worth it...unless i could sell something for $500...

I had a first edition shining Charizard that I traded away for basically nothing when I stopped giving a shit about Pokemon cards like an idiot.

I *just* got back into collecting Pokemon cards with the release of the Sword and Shield set at the start of this month. I'm falling into the rabbit hole already though.

I haven't bought many packs yet so my best card is probably my Celebi V or my Zacian V. I've yet to pull any super duper rare cards.

I have literally thousands of cards, but most or from Gen 3 onwards. I'm guessing common/uncommon are worthless?

Not worthless if they were kept in good shape, just not a lot

I can corroborate that once you get back into it it's addictive, especially if you get an Ultra Rare early on. Back in 2012 I bought my first pack in 10+ years and got an Entei-EX and there went my money for the next several years. I've since mostly fallen back out of it though and while I may still buy a pack or even a box every now and then, I hardly care as much.

My first rare was just Snorlax in his base form, not V and deff not VMAX. but hes my favorite Pokemon so I took it as a sign lol. Props on pulling that insanely rare Marnie!

Uh, not sure. I've got one of those gold Fire Energies I think is pretty rare? And a few rainbows, but anytime I Google them, they're never going for more than 20. The secret rare Mewtwo GX from Shining Legends was worth like 60 at one point, but I don't think it is anymore. Not that I'd sell it, 'cause I collect Gen 1, but still.

Thanks! I'm still wanting gold Zama/Zacian more than anything, but this Marnie might be more coveted! If you're going to actively collect, maybe we can trade any doubles or rares we get!

I collected the cards from Gens 1-3, stopped, then started to get back into it in Gen 7 because my nephew got into them around then and wanted someone to trade with, so I would buy cards occasionally for that purpose. The power creep took me by surprise, as with the older cards, basic Pokemon had around 40-50HP, and evolved ones 60-70HP, while nowadays basic Pokemon have 60-70HP, and evolved ones are well into the 100s, over 200HP for the most powerful ones.

As for rare cards, some of my rare cards that immediately spring to ming include Rare Shiny Base Mewtwo, Fossil Kabutops and Zapdos, and Dark Machamp and Alakazam for Gen 1, Raikou for Gen 2 (Not shiny, but there were 2 versions and it's the rarer one), and Mew, Deoxys and Rayquaza for Gen 3 (Mew isn't shiny, but it's one of the secret cards where the number on the card is higher than the number of cards in that set, something like 111/110.) There are more Rare Shiny and rare cards besides those ones. As for newer ones, my nephew gave me Rare Shiny Mega Lucario and Mega Heracross cards.

I dont know if it's worth anything but my favorite rare was this Japanese holo erika vileplume

I don't thinK i have anything worth anything. I have a bunch of old 1st Ed/fossil set cards but they're almost all commons. I don't have any big money stuff like the starters, closest is probably the legendary birbs but I don't remember if those are holo or even if they're 1st ed or not.

Also, I remember back in the day holding on to my 1st ed sealed machamp thinking it was gonna be so valuable one day, only to one day find out there were like SO MANY of them and that they were basically worthless. That was a feelsbad moment right there.

Unfortunately I don't have any shadowless (well actually I have a couple, but I can't find any rares) cards because my parents held out from the initial boom before giving in and buying me some backs.

So probably somewhere between 15~20 bucks.

I have two base set unlimited Charizards, one of them is pretty beat up though. Aside from some of the older cards, I think my most valuable ones are Cynthia and Lillie full arts.

I was never crazy into collecting; Ive played the game competitively since 2007 and always casually collected Japanese cards, but Ive been getting back into seriously collecting in Japanese again recently. Nothing too crazy yet though, SM5 Cynthia FA or Marnie FA is probably the most valuable thing so far. Have a few 1st edition Lv.Xs and stuff like the Pt secret rare reprint Charmeleon and Zapdos, and all of Fossil and Neo 1. I had Luxray GL Lv.X in both languages back when it was the best card in format and it was ridiculously expensive in both but its value now cant be too crazy. I have no idea about prices in general... N FA, Computer Search ACE SPEC, every LEGEND piece, old exs like Latios Deta, Vileplume, Rayquaza Delta, or Regirock Gold Star come to mind as other things that might possibly be a little up there.

All in all, not too concerned with value though I feel like I should learn soon so I dont ruin stuff with negligence lol

Apparently either Blaines Charizard or base set Blastoise, I think? I dont know about prices for reverse holo cards from legendary collection, but I have a Jolteon that might be up there too.

Basically all my cards are from pre-Ruby/Sapphire, I should probably go through and catalog the rares some day.

So I'm curious about something. I'm picking up a tin with Sword and Shield packs in it later but it also contains cards from older sets, like XY Evolutions. Are these older packs still being printed or is it the Pokemon Company just unloading excess inventory? Both? About how long is a set usually in print for?

I opened up 2 full art ultra rares the other day in an Elite Trainer Box. Didnt even realize it until I went to put them in my binder. I think the full art Zacian V goes for almost $30 alone
